Role Description

Within the HR function, we are looking for a Data Engineer to work as part of the Process Mining space. Process mining is a data-driven approach for discovering, monitoring and improving processes by extracting the actual process out of our information systems. The data engineer would require to work with the various sources to understand the data around processes, extract and process this data and make it available to the process mining solution. This activity will require analyzing the data for structure and correctness, writing the code to perform extraction & transformation and deploying the processes in production to automate the solution.

Areas of Specialty

  • Data Profiling & Quality: Ability to access data from various sources and perform analysis to bring better understanding of data
  • Domain Expertise: Ability to understand the HR Domain, to converse with the functional SMEs for their requirements and converting those to data requirements
  • Data Processing & Integration: Process source data as per requirements e.g. anonymizing the data, writing & deploying the data integration processes to extract and transform the data for further delivery
  • Data Visualization: Ability to present the outcomes in the most effective way

Responsibilities

  • Understand & explain HR systems architecture and data models as well as the detailed table structures
  • Discuss with functional experts their need for data and identify where the data is available in HR IT Systems
  • Query/extract data from different HR systems
  • Anonymize highly sensitive data and ensure information security protocols are respected
  • Clean / transform data to enable its use in the process mining software
  • Suggest better / faster / automated solutions for data cleansing / anonymization
  • Automate solutions for data extraction, anonymization and provisioning

Skills & Qualifications

  • Good experience with Java & SQL
  • Experience with data extraction and processing through various approaches like reports, APIs etc.
  • Scripting and programming skills
  • Knowledge of Workday and other HR systems; understanding of ServiceNow would be a benefit
  • Knowledge of data management best practices
  • Ability to clearly explain data models and connections between systems
  • Experience with file structures like JSON, XML etc.
  • Extreme reliability handling sensitive data
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
