Job Location: Mumbai

Model Risk Management s mission is to manage, independently and actively, model risk globally in line with the banks risk appetite with responsibility for:

  • Performing robust independent model validation;
  • Ensuring early and proactive identification of Model Risks;
  • Designing and recommending Model Risk Appetite;
  • Effectively managing and mitigating Model Risks;
  • Establishing Model Risk metrics;
  • Designing and implementing a strong Model Risk Management and governance framework;
  • Creating bank-wide Model Risk related policies.

Your key responsibilities

The role is embedded within DB s Model Risk Management and the successful candidate is tasked to:

  • Perform validation and provide effective challenge to model components throughout the model lifecycle, including model input, model methodology and performance, model implementation, ongoing monitoring, model assumptions and limitations, and model governance and documentation for models within PPNR domain
  • Manage interaction with model owners and developers during the validation process
  • Review and monitor the remediation action taken by model owners and developers to ensure findings are properly and timely addressed
  • Support the model governance activities such as model inventory and model documentation
  • Also, responsible to perform and document reviews of other model types when required
  • The role holder expected to justify and defend their analysis and conclusions
  • Pro-actively engage in management of Model Risk to assure Model Risk requirements.

Your skills and experience

  • Professional experience of 1-3 years in model development or model validation for financial services.
  • Experience of working within PPNR/treasury or directly within key business areas of global banks will be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of model development process and statistical nuances
  • Candidate should have understanding of banking products
  • Proven ability to solve problems independently, to show flexibility and to act proactively
  • Programming skills like R and Python
  • Business fluent written and verbal skills in English
  • B.Tech/Masters/MBA in Econometrics, Mathematics,Statistics,Finance
