We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible to build new data pipelines (loading millions of transformed records into the Cloud Data Warehouse Snowflake in timely manner) to support evolving analytical needs for critical business decisions. Manage existing data pipelines keeping data relevant, accurate, and ready for analytical consumption.
Flexible Work Policy: The Senior Data Engineer position has been segmented as Remote Anywhere meaning the work is completed 100% remote/virtual anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead development activities and assign tasks for 1-3 developers.
- Design and build large scale datasets for a wide range of consumer needs.
- Work with minimal supervision and provide status updates and escalation to Lead Developer as appropriate.
- Develop detailed system requirement specifications and technical design documents for small and medium business functions.
- Develop high-quality/efficient code and configurations for new applications, databases, and interface programs.
- Create and execute unit test cases.
- Adhere to defined standard policies.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews as part of oversight of team delivery
- Document code, FAQs, system functionality, setup documents, and support resolution processes.
- Develop, coordinate, and release targeted application bug fixes.
- Provides application support as part of an on-call rotation to work on resolving outages and user questions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
Related Experience:
- 5+ years of professional IT experience
- 3+ years of data engineering related experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proven ability to model data for reporting and analytics needs.
- Proven ability to implement applications using best practices.
- Proven ability to analyze and understand existing processes and code.
- Excellent written, verbal, and people skills.
- Must work well within collaborative environments.
- Proven ability to work in Agile development methodology.
Proficiency in (MUST HAVE):
- AWS Platform – Required
- Snowflake – Required
- ETL Tools – Informatica Power center Required; Informatica IICS, Fivetran, Dbt labs, AWS Airflow Nice to have
- Python, SQL – Required
Familiarity with:
- Cloud Technologies – AWS services like Lambda, SQS/SNS, EMR, Cloud watch, RDS. EKS
- Compute Technologies – Spark/Hadoop
- Streaming Technologies – Kafka, AWS Kinesis
- API Technologies – MuleSoft, AWS Gateway API
- CI/CD – Atlassian Bitbucket and Bamboo
- Build tools – Apache ANT and Maven
The following information is provided in accordance with the Colorado Pay Equity Act. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $81,100 and $108,200. This role is also eligible for annual incentive plan bonus.
