Data Architecture Manager Research and Development

Job Highlights:
· Demonstrate solid experience in developing Data and AI architecture roadmaps, blueprints and designs for real world solutions in R&D and RWE
· Possess practical knowledge of R&D and RWE processes and business decisions, familiar with therapeutical areas that drive unique data requirements and restrictions (bioinformatics, omics, proteins, bio imaging, clinical data, patient information)
· Have solid experience in technical solution identification and realization through translation of requirements into workable, fit for purpose designs and approaches
· Provide hands-on support in delivering both data lake/warehouse (data mesh) and AI/ML solutions
· Apply architecture frameworks to shape solutions and understand dependencies of technologies in a vast and complex environment
· Bring strong relationship management skills in working with peers, colleagues, senior leadership and vendor communities
· Lead multidisciplinary teams, with and without external third-party partners/vendors, with direct supervisory and people management responsibilities
Key Functional Requirements & Qualifications:
· Strategic thinker with the ability to act as a translator between data and analytics and R&D and RWE business, ensuring business value is achieved through appropriate architecture foundation
· Demonstrated techno functional Data and AI capabilities (e.g. data engineering, data architecture, master data management, data lake/warehouse (data mesh), data visualization, artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytical modeling, federated learning, etc.)
· Exposure to therapeutical areas in a pharmaceutical and life sciences setting and understanding of the associated unique data and analytics requirements
· Ability to lead and manage agile teams
· Experience working cross-functionally in large organizations to solve complex problems and treat large amounts of information
· Relationship-oriented with the ability to communicate meaningfully and influence all levels of stakeholders
· Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in autonomy with limited guidelines
· Effective written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Key Technical Requirements & Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s/Master’s in business, or STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) preferred or equivalent, with 5+ years of relevant working experience
· Strong background and experience with cloud technologies and services, preferably AWS
· Strong background and experience with data management technologies, preferably Snowflake, Informatica IICS, Informatica MDM
· Strong background and experience with AI/ML technologies, preferably Python, R, Databricks
· Solid understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, AKS/EKS/Openshift
· Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, DataOps and MLOps
· Solid understanding of architectural frameworks and notations, such as TOGAF, C4
· Technical knowledge of software application development and agile methodologies
· Understanding and application of data / digital strategy and governance
· Understanding of software development processes and procedures
· Understanding of change management and release processes
· Experience in using agile delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, etc. preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140,426.41 – $169,863.03 per year
