The Job:
We are looking for a motivated and curious intern to join our Content Analytics team. The intern will partner with Editorial, Data Platform, Data Science, and Business Operations peers to first understand the editorial process and measure the impact of editorial decisions with analytical rigor. This can take the form of deep dive analyses, opportunity sizing, and self-serve analytics reporting for cross-functional teams. As a member of small team, the intern will get to work directly with stakeholders delivering impact and shaping the role of data throughout CNN Digital.
The Daily Responsibilities:
- Contribute to high-priority workstreams within the CNN Digital – your work and editorial understanding will help shape the direction of intersection of data and editorial decision making
- Develop a set of learning goals to be incorporated into daily responsibilities:
- Hone technical and analytics skills working closely with stakeholders to define and deliver effective analytical solutions (self-service data platforms, dashboards, exploratory data analysis)
- Develop strong relationships with peers and cross-functional teams to thoroughly understand the editorial product and its workflow, delivering sharp insights
- Collaborate across multiple functions and tackle the analytics process end to end from cleaning and transforming data to analysis, and presenting insights.
The Essentials:
- Must be currently enrolled as a student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
- Must be a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student (18 years or older)
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States
- Proficiency in a technical language or tool e.g. SQL, Git, and R or Python
- Familiarity in one or more visualization tools, such as Looker/Mixpanel/Tableau/Mode/Domo or willingness to learn
- Academic experience in a quantitative/tech discipline
- Interest in content analytics or news media
- Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms
About the Internship Program:
- Our Spring 2023 program is a 12 Week Internship that will run from Monday, February 6th through Friday, April 28th, 2023
- Part time-schedule (16-24 hours/week) required
- Company-issued computer or secured remote access provided for the duration of the internship program
- Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive salary. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
