The Disney Branded Television (DBT) Social Media Analytics team sits within DGE’s Content Research and Insights department. Our team conducts qualitative and quantitative research with entertainment consumers and leverages social media data to answer business questions for a variety of partners and stakeholders across the company.

A Day in the Life…

Your role as a Social Media Analytics intern will be to collect and analyze social media data related to key ABC shows using social listening and other analytical tools to support programming, casting, and marketing decisions.

We consider our interns to be members of the team and seek motivated, proactive, and dependable candidates who are organized, upbeat, and eager to work hard in a busy, friendly environment. A love of entertainment content, an interest in research, a curiosity about consumer behavior, and an understanding of our ABC Television is a plus.

A day on the job may include:

  • Collect and analyze social media data, identify trends, and craft insights to aid the development of marketing and programming strategies
  • Monitor fan-driven and network-driven activity on social media related to ABC shows, brands, and talent to collect data to assist various departments
  • Assist in creating reports and presentations on a regular basis

What You Bring To The Role…

  • A curious nature and interest in Consumer Insights / Market Research
  • Ability to self-start, work autonomously, and juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong critical thinking and project management skills
  • Good organization skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written and active listening skills
  • Ability to design and create presentations and graphics
  • A real passion for TV content, especially ABC television
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite. Excel and PowerPoint savvy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year (or recently graduated within the past 6 months) in Marketing, Entertainment, Business, Social Science field or an analytical field
  • Previous experience (academic or internship) in social analytics (gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and reporting on the results) or other text analytics field
  • Familiarity creating data visualizations in Tableau

Required Education

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last 6 months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program

Additional Details

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization

Work Environment

  • This internship is a hybrid internship. The intern will work some days in the Burbank office and other days remotely, so it requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.
  • Program length — All candidates must be available from January 2023 through early June 2023
  • Work details — Must be able to work 30-40 hours per week Monday through Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm for the duration of the internship
