What are we looking for?

We are looking for a positive minded Junior Business Analyst, looking to grow, learn and take on new challenges, working in a fast-paced environment supporting the federal government. Must have a can-do attitude, be highly professional, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The DRT office and the primary client are both based in the DC Metro area, and the work for this position will primarily be remote, with the possibility of in-person meetings on a semi-annual or quarterly basis.


Project you will support:

The Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) is an agency within the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is the Department’s focal point for the nation’s farmers and ranchers and other stewards of private agricultural lands and non-industrial private forest lands. FPAC agencies implement programs designed to mitigate the significant risks of farming through crop insurance services, conservation programs and technical assistance, and commodity, lending, and disaster programs.

Working alongside project leadership, the team facilitates the integration of Business and IT, guides the prioritization of project and programs resources and support balanced decision-making. The team assists with the establishment of processes, templates, and tools, to standardize across the agency/mission area. The team supports data calls and reporting requests from external and internal stakeholders, establishing processes to ensure that the appropriate stakeholders are engaged, and responses are approved submitted within delivery timelines. The team also provides additional functions required to support operations across the portfolio of IT projects. DRT collaborates with stakeholders across the organization, using skilled resources to support delivery, and providing mentoring and leadership utilizing a consistent methodology, tailored to the needs of the Agency.


Fun stuff you will do on the job:

  • Support USDA’s FPAC Program/Project Management Office by assisting federal PMs who are managing IT portfolios and projects.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment requiring a high-degree of project complexity and flexibility, thrive on dealing with ambiguity, balancing frequent changes in priority, and managing complex relationships with a delivery team and customers in multi-geographical locations across the US, using your high attention to detail
  • Support the management of all aspects of service delivery to ensure that the task is delivered as required, in a professional manner, and with high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Work across the agency with a variety of stakeholders; and you will likely have multiple reporting responsibilities, including to federal management executives.
  • Build strong relationships with your customer and become a trusted support resource
  • Facilitate improved communication across the project team, hunting down information and inputs from the right parties, and establish collaborative working relationships
  • Work with the workstream lead/or your customer counterpart on completing work products and reports as needed (internal & external)
  • Develop process documentation, streamline and improve business practices, and identify efficiencies
  • Respond to feedback and communication in a timely manner.

This is you:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree with 0-3 years of business experience, working in a professional environment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust with the US Federal Government
  • Experience working independently to ensure timeliness and quality of work, managing client interactions, and reporting process gaps, issues, ideas for improvement
  • Experience prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently, as well as on a team

Please note that, as a government contractor, DRT may be required to ask for proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status upon hire or anytime thereafter if the executive order is upheld. Per the requirement, federal contractors and subcontractors must submit proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or have an approved accommodation to begin work.
