Reporting analysts help drive critical business decisions by analysing metrics and designing reports. They communicate these results to managers and often provide suggestions based on their findings.
As an MIS Analyst, you must have a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, information systems, or a related field. You should also have advanced skills in SQL, Microsoft Excel, and Dashboard Tools among other software programs. Related Formal certification is preferred but not mandatory. In addition to technical skills, MIS analysts must have the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time well. The ability to effectively communicate the results of your analysis is critical
Responsibilities:
– Design business analysis and data recording systems for use throughout the department
– Maintain databases and perform updates as necessary to ensure accuracy
– Regularly examine data reports to locate and resolve mistakes throughout
– Accurately analyze and collect data for various types of business reports
– Create business reports that provide insight into key data points
– Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers
– Support various departments, including Operations, Clients, and stakeholders, in reaching their goals through analysis
– Monitor data to identify changes in financial and business trends
– Create & maintain business knowledge reports & dashboards for internal teams & leadership
– Enabling user access to various application
– Support business teams in MIS, Dashboards, and business process automation
– Respond to ad-hoc data needs within SLA
– Transforming the reporting mechanism
– Work effectively with business teams to gather report requirements
– Act as a backup team member during team shrinkage
Skills
- Proven Analytical & Data Validation skills that allow for the development of data-driven reports
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to co-workers
- Excellent critical thinking skills to help solve business problems and make decisions
- Tendency to pay close attention to small details that could impact results
- General knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, processes and information flow
- Excel/ SQL/ VBA & Power BI or Tableau is a must
- Python & API
Qualifications:
– One to three years of experience as a Reporting or Business Analyst
– Expertise in SQL, Python is must with strong knowledge of tools like Power BI, Tableau
– Ability to use SQL and Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs, and charts
– Should have strong SQL programming background, scripting knowledge, Excel
– Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with focus on automation
– Good communication skills
