JOB SUMMARY –
The purpose of this position is development and deployment of the category strategy for Electronics Global Tail & middle spend suppliers to drive optimal cost and conditions (commercial, quality, delivery). Manage Tail & middle spend of approximately $35Mn spend. Develop, deploy, and manage all related contracts. Drive all defined and required steps and actions in order to fulfill requirements of the supplier management process. Collaborate with other functions (operations, quality, logistics, engineering) for resourcing and rationalization. Total alignment of Sourcing strategy with Category leads of respective commodity. Prime focus is to deliver Cost out & Supplier Rationalization goals along with resiliency for critical suppliers.Work on material shortage to avoid production stoppage.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES –
1. Develop, plan, monitor and execute direct material cost out projects for Tail Spend suppliers. The project should provide NET 3% savings to achieve SCM objectives.
2. Alignment and Execution of global commodity sourcing strategies to effectively leverage Eaton’s global spend in conjunction with the Global Commodity Managers, Businesses & Engineering to deliver cost benefits.
3. Help keep commodity strategies aligned with latest internal and external environmental, market and economic factors. Build and maintain organizational consensus and alignment to the commodity strategies.
4. Collaborate with Engineering & Category/Business Managers on part & supplier rationalization opportunities
5. Develop strong positive ethical relationships with suppliers & adheres to Eaton’s Code of Conduct.
6. Work with category managers to establish and develop category strategy for tail spend suppliers/parts.
7. Ensure program milestones are met as mutually established by the customer and GSC CoE
8. Coordinate the exchange of technical information regarding product and product processing with adequate safeguards for confidentiality in compliance with Eaton Data Management policies
9.Work on GPS based material shortage tracker and support to Global sites to find alternate with least lead time with competitive cost.
10. Collaborate with cross functional teams to work on supply continuity as first priority.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering preferably Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Minimum 8-10 years’ of experience as a commodity buyer for one of the commodities (Electrical & Electronic Components) Knowledge of manufacturing technologies, supply chain process § Knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI & Project)
§ Ability to communicate clearly & effectively in person, via e-mail and over phone
§ Timely project closure and good analytical skills
§ Quick response to deadlines, time management
§ Should have good experience on data analysis, report preparation and presentation to project team/stakeholder
