Edgematics is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team.

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting the issues in production pipelines and providing the root cause analysis along with implementation of change requests within provided timelines. The fundamental goal of this position is to help our customers achieve success using our ETL/ELT platform. The job involves handling and resolving complex technical and functional queries from customers across the globe.

Help resolve software and technical issues related to ETL/ELT pipelines, implemented SQL procedures, Hive queries on Hadoop platform for the customer efficiently and effectively

Gather the required information necessary in order to troubleshoot and come up with root cause analysis for production issues in ETL/ELT pipelines.

Manage customer expectations regarding estimated response times for issue resolution.

Get involved in implementation of change requests for existing ETL/ELT pipelines.

Extensively research and document customer technical issues.

Collaborate with Technical Support team members to properly manage production issues raised by customers and escalate when appropriate.

Own customer technical issues from initial report to resolution, communicating with customers regularly regarding tickets status and implementation status.

Run monitoring reports for usage, performance, and/or availability.

Document solutions for knowledge-base and bring new ideas for innovation and automation excellence into the Support team.
Ideal Qualifications

Should be able to lead the team independently and be able to troubleshoot the issues

4 to 5 years of experience in data warehouse projects, ETL/ELT (Any ETL/ELT tool Talend or Informatica or SSIS or ADF etc.) and Big data (Hive, HQL, Hadoop platform).

Expert level SQL/PL SQL experience is must to lead the team.

Experience in Jira is an added advantage.

Experience with Linux/Unix scripts is an added advantage.

Must have been involved in implementation of ETL/ELT pipelines.

Deployment of code using CI/CD (Jenkins) is an added advantage.
