Opportunity Overview
The Asset Allocation Team within Advice & Guidance (A&G) is seeking a talented and experienced Analyst to help drive investment recommendations, by utilizing and conducting both disciplined fundamental and quantitative analysis across a broad spectrum of asset classes In addition, this role will be instrumental in helping to strategically build out the firm’s asset allocation processes to further accelerate the firm’s journey to become the industry leader in human centered complete wealth management. This position is a part of the firm’s Client Strategies Group Division.
The Client Strategies Group Division helps ensure that branch teams and our clients have a consistent supply of high-quality retirement, banking, insurance, mutual fund, and education savings products aligned with the firm’s investment philosophy and solutions-based advice and guidance. In addition, the group drives innovation that will enhance products, services, processes, and systems to meet our current and future client needs. These areas play a pivotal role in supporting the firm’s goals of deeply serving clients and associates serve as the firm’s subject matter experts for their respective areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing robust multi-asset frameworks and recommendations, including strategic and opportunistic asset class positioning used in firm-wide portfolio guidance and discretionary portfolio management.
- Responsible for development of firm-wide capital market assumptions, long-term market expectations utilized in client tools and planning discussions.
- Work in partnership with Investment Strategy, Portfolio Solutions, Research and other internal stakeholders and committees in making better informed decisions consistent with the firm’s long-term strategy.
- Deliver effective written and verbal communication to financial advisors, clients, internal departments, firm leaders and investment professional contacts.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Advanced degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or another relevant discipline preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience as an investment analyst, preferably with asset allocation or multi-asset portfolio management experience.
- Strong knowledge of asset allocation, including global economic issues and the impact on investments, as well as solid knowledge of various types of investments, asset classes, and markets.
- Solid quantitative knowledge and proven success in applying such techniques used in building effective global, multi-asset, asset allocation models.
- Familiarity of programming languages, including Python, R, SQL, and/or Matlab preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills for preparing and presenting research to financial advisors, clients, internal stakeholders, and investment management companies.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and other software programs (Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, FactSet, Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or actively pursuing CFA designation consistent with department policy.
- Series 7/66 required within 6 months of hire, consistent with department policy.
