Key Responsibilities :
- Support Firm and segment annual and multi year planning process including gathering and validating data, improve existing processes, analyze actual and forecasted results and communicate recommendations/guidance to senior leadership.
- Initiate and implement ad hoc financial modeling and analysis with a high degree of accuracy and completion within short time frame
- Assist in determining and assessing key performance indicators and financial drivers including defining the financial implications of each driver, creating/updating financial models that are integrated into the planning and forecasting process and assist in identifying opportunities to improve performance based on these key drivers.
- Translate data into high-value, actionable insights for senior leadership and business partners, developing and refining new analyses in response to business needs, and bringing expertise on emerging trends.
- Develop and execute segment financial and metric reporting packages to be shared with senior leadership on recurring basis.
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with senior leaders across the organization.
- Partner with senior leaders to integrate financial outcomes into business decisions. Support the increased use of data-driven decision making.
- Lead research and modelling efforts that aid in the creation and maintenance of the firm’s and segments’ strategic plans.
- Inform and educate other business areas on financial concepts and best practices as well as the financial impact of business decisions; delivering insights and recommending an optimal or preferred solution to influence strategic direction
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, formatting, analyzing, and explaining information
- Conduct variance analysis to show leadership how the budget and/or rolling forecast compares against actual performance.
- Uses data and analysis to create insights and recommend path forward on key decisions such as performance improvements, investment decisions, benefits realizations and, minimize risk or capture new opportunities from both within the firm and within the external environment
- Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or data science
- Relevant work experience will be considered
- MBA or advanced degree or certification is preferred
- 7+ years work experience
Depth of Knowledge
- Consulting and/or corporate FP&A experience is preferred.
- Financial Services industry experience is a plus.
Functional/Technical Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting and robust and action driven analysis
- Advanced analysis skills, forecasting, and complex modeling. Ability to understand and identify opportunities to apply the different types of statistics and advanced analytical concepts.
- Works effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of accounting processes and financial statements required.
- Ability to influence associates and leadership up to the Executive Management level using verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to summarize complex financial information and concepts and clearly communicate up to executive management.
- A proficiency using visualization software (Tableau) is a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required including working ability to utilize pivot tables, advanced charting, advanced formulas, and conditional formatting
- Industry and best practice research skills must
- Advanced project management skills
