Job Description
Elbit Systems of America is looking for an experienced subject matter expert in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. The candidate will be responsible for the algorithm design, implementation, training, finetuning and evaluation of complex machine learning pipelines. This role includes development, prototyping in a simulation environment, and integrating on tactical hardware. The candidate must have experience in machine learning and development of automated systems. The candidate should possess a strong mathematics and programming background. The candidate should also have working knowledge of linear algebra, matrix math and statistical processing. Candidate must have experience in Python with machine learning frameworks such as Keras, TensorFlow or PyTorch. Experience with C/C++ and Matlab is a plus. The candidate should have experience implementing algorithms in real-time on relevant tactical processors in both software and firmware. This role includes collaborative development of AI/ML process and pipelines including tasking and mentoring more junior engineers. This candidate will support the Advanced Capabilities Center and execute tasks across all Elbit Systems of America business units.
Hybrid or remote opportunity, with a preference to be located in the Orlando, FL area. Domestic travel may be required in order to support testing and integration activities.
Required Experience
- Proficient in Python
- BS or MS or equivalent experience in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with any deep learning framework, including Tensorflow, Caffe, MxNet, Torch,etc.
- Experience creating and presenting model output and performance of data to stakeholders.
- Ability to read and adapt recent AI/ML research publications into models to solve real world problems.
- Experience creating and applying advanced statistical methods and complex algorithms such as: regression, clustering, simulation, scenario analysis, neural networks, deep/reinforcement learning, genetic algorithms, and other machine learning techniques.
Desired Experience
- Experience with image processing, detection and classification, inertial tracking, threat and signature analysis.
- Experience conducting and publishing Machine Learning research
- Experience with simulation and digital system model development and analysis.
- Embedded Software experience.
- Experience with Python data science libraries including pandas, sklearn and interprocess/multiprocess communication.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Ability to deal with complex problems in an international environment of cultural diversity.
- Lifecycle Product development from concept through verification and delivery to the customer including integration onto the specific platform.
- Technical leadership during the design/implementation phase.
- Technical briefings to management and customers.

- Development of technical & product roadmaps and competitive assessments.
- Analysis of Customer Documentation to create System Level Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), Specifications, Architectural
- Design and Interface Control Drawings (ICDs).
- Lead the sophisticated analysis, design and testing of complex systems
- Technical interface between ESA’s external customers and sub-contractors.
- Provide technical support to customer and user lab and on-aircraft testing
- Develop and analyze highly complex algorithms.
- Support proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost estimating and presentation activities.
- Work independently and with internal/external organizations
- Willingness to travel Domestically.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master’s Degree is highly desired
Specific Degree Field: Mathematics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related
8-12 years of defense, academic, or industrial experience in artificial intelligence, statistical machine learning, deep learning, Computer Vision, and/or natural language processing.
Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated DOD Clearance at the Secret level
