People Management

  • Ensure the team delivers high quality work with focus on efficiency and aligned to organizational strategies and goals.
  • Lead, motivate, and guide direct reports to ensure appropriate objectives and personal development plans.
  • Recruit talented resources and maintain strong technical expertise in the team to meet current and future business needs including talent management and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and leadership across regional centers for coordinated and consistent approach to people and process management.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement within the team and broader organization of GPS.
  • Maintain an inclusive and innovative culture aligned to Team Lilly values and expectations.
  • Lead strategic cross-functional projects across GPS and GPS Partners for automation, technology and analytics needs.
  • Influence and drive GPS technology strategy through external/internal benchmarking, business process automation needs, and analytic trends.

Safety System Development and Maintenance, Analytics and Reporting

  • Lead the development and support of new or existing systems, tools, and technologies for GPS systems to address large cross-functional issues for GPS and associated business partners
  • Ensure standard validation principles and system development methodologies to create and maintain GPS-based applications for use in operations and processes.
  • Develop good understanding of safety processes in order to lead/participate in projects across GPS that drive GPS automation, technology and analytics needs.
  • Actively engage in in benchmarking to highlight opportunities for automation and technology improvements in GPS processes.
  • Accountable for maintenance of GPS systems as system owner or custodian while strategically influencing and driving the system change management process as needed.
  • Oversight of GPS system configuration activities (i.e. ERR and PLS processes).
  • Support GPS and Lilly safety reporting needs through the creation, validation, and delivery of existing/adhoc queries and/or visualizations while driving and influencing the strategy for the reporting process.
  • Maintain an understanding of GPS systems data in order to ensure reports meet GPS/Lilly needs.
  • Explore opportunities to create self-service/enhanced reporting options for GPS/Lilly functional areas.
  • Provide expertise to drive optimal data migrations/data transfer processes for GPS.

Compliance

  • Develop deep knowledge of existing regulations/guidelines and trends for GPS automation and technology (i.e. e2B, eDC, AI, safety mailings) to proactively drive change to maintain compliance.
  • Provide standard or custom validated reports for use in audits and inspections.
  • Understand the confidential nature of company information and take necessary steps to ensure its protection.
  • Ensure that an appropriate confidentiality agreement has been executed before disclosing confidential company information to outside parties.
  • Understand the role of the EU Qualified Person (QP) and ensure support is provided to fulfill the QP legal responsibilities.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor s/Masters degree within a Health Science, Information Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with data, reporting, and processes/systems.
  • Experience of managing teams/projects is preferred, especially in patient safety or related field in drug development and in a global environment.
  • Good understanding of drug development, pharmacovigilance and working in a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with ability to influence and collaborate across geographies.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and coach to nurture talent and engagement.

Other Information/Additional Preferences:

  • Demonstrated project management expertise with proven ability to oversee and manage multiple tasks/processes simultaneously.
  • Experience in representing the organization s analytics capabilities in various internal and external forums and conferences.
  • Experience in operational and workflow analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter comfortable with creating structure in an ambiguous environment; possesses a proven history of being a quick learner.
  • Demonstrated experience with using data analysis and visualization tools (i.e. Excel, Business Objects, Power BI); Data Storage Technologies (e.g. SQL, Oracle, Access, etc.); Artificial Intelligence (e.g. Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, etc.); Data Manipulation and Analysis Languages (e.g. VBA, SPARQL Python etc.); Visualization Technologies (e.g. PowerBI / Tableau / Spotfire / Advanced Excel etc.)
  • Good understanding of appropriate confidentiality agreement before disclosing confidential company information to outside parties.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and application of Computer System Quality (CSQ) requirements.
