About our Team
Our Data Science Life Science team focuses on knowledge representation and data enrichment.
We are optimizing search and discovery for enriched data on Elsevier’s Life Sciences products.
We are a very diverse team, engaged and inclusive, working in an agile way.
About the Role
With your technical skills and scientific background, you support activities around knowledge representation, quality management, maintenance and innovative development. You will be working in cross-functional, agile squads and in close collaboration with scientific knowledge representation experts. You will collaborate with domain, technical, and data science experts to deliver best outcomes for our customers.
Responsibilities
Technical quality assurance of scientific taxonomies
Technical deployment of taxonomies
Support with taxonomy related tasks, such as reporting, statistics, technical support, etc.
Technical documentation
Contributing to process automation
Requirements
Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s level in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, medicinal or molecular biology or closely related field
Able to understand quality assurance standards and execute moderately complex technical tasks
Capable of having an active role in development of knowledge organization, data structures or taxonomies
Be able to query databases using SQL or SPARQL and have basic programming skills in Python Be familiar with data representation formats such as XML and JSON
Be a great communicator with an ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
