Business Operations Analyst | Remote Opportunity
The Business Operations Analyst works with field operations and corporate underwriting to address policy issues that need to be corrected and /or changed.
The objective for the Business Operation Analyst is to assist the Underwriter in addressing non-core Underwriting tasks: endorsement requests, bureau issues, audit and claim issues and other post bind policy issues.
Examples of the work the Business Operations Analyst will address include:
- Bureau crits/inspections
- Ownership issues
- Class code and exposure changes
- Named insured changes
- Claim alerts/questions
- Audit alerts
- ownership changes uncovered at audit
- Named insured/payroll entity changes uncovered at audit
- Class code changes uncovered at audit
- Other issues e.g., DMV certs, adding 3a locations, PEOs, group transportation, etc.
The Business Operations Analyst will work closely with Corporate Compliance and Governance ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations, Workers’ Compensation Bureau regulations and internal governance processes.
The Business Operations analyst will be granted varying levels of underwriting authority to ensure customer responsiveness goals are met while maintaining appropriate underwriting discipline.
Relying on depth of knowledge, experience and creativity, be accountable for understanding the policy level issue and working with the right parties, coming up with solutions to resolve those issues.
The Business Operations Analyst will support Loss Control in managing state licensing requirements and other Loss Control administrative support duties.
Key competencies include technical expertise, knowledge of key Federal, State and Bureau regulations, knowledge in how to get regulatory information, effective communications both internally and externally and collaborating with key departments.
The Business Operations Analyst works collaboratively with: Sales, Claims, IT, Legal, Loss Control, Premium Audit and Field operations (Underwriting and Underwriting Services)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Address policy level issues – endorsement requests, bureau issues, audit and claim issues and other post bind policy issues.
- Work with Sales, Claims, IT, Legal, Loss Control, Premium Audit and Field operations (Underwriting and Underwriting Services) to find policy solutions and/or make changes to processes.
- Stay current on key Federal, State, Bureau and internal regulations and processes.
- Monitors Bureau & DOI actions and works with Corporate Compliance and governance on business changes needed.
- Manage state Loss Control licensing and other support duties for Loss Control.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Work experience with a commercial lines insurance company with an emphasis on Workers Compensation is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Workers Compensation industry, preferably with a field underwriting and underwriting support unit.
- Must have strong communications, collaboration and influence management skills.
- Must have superior technical, analytic and decision making skills.
- Must demonstrate understanding of NCCI and/or Independent Bureau State(s).
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the requirements listed above.
Pay Range:
$60,000 – $67,000
