Director of Analytics Operations

This position offers a base salary, monthly bonus and full benefits. Base salary of $120k – $130k and another $25k – $32k in annual bonus (paid monthly). OTE for first year is $145k – $160k.

Position Description

  • Manage a team of business analysts and engineers that gather and use business data via various methods and sources to provide insight, tools and reporting into business performance, market conditions, commissions and lead vetting. Individual is expected to have knowledge in a variety of technical skills sets including SQL, T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS and Office products to facilitate simple to complex data aggregation for reporting and tool building to facilitate further analysis in support of the business. Manager will be required to achieve expert knowledge of various proprietary data sets and business processes across multiple divisional groups.

Essential Functions and Results Expectations

  • Align and direct the management, development and integration of data analytics and BI in support of the business
  • Proactive approach to process improvement, market insight, tools and reporting throughout organization
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  • Prioritize professional development throughout team to maintain awareness and skillsets in evolving technology
  • Capture and monitor department KPI’s striving for continuous improvement
  • Provide guidance and direction in the design, technology and methodology for meeting business goals
  • Collaborate with division leadership in identifying opportunities and solutions to support the vision and strategy of the team
  • Monitor and evaluate jobs and packages to ensure efficiency, quality and reliability of output
  • Ensure thorough documentation and cross training of essential functions and jobs/packages to facilitate efficient troubleshooting and role transition

Essential Duties and Functions

  • Actively engage in scheduling, planning and facilitating an effective one-on-one with leader on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
  • Facilitate and manage the prioritization of tasks
  • Responsible for personnel management including interviewing, hiring, training, career development, mentoring and managing to expectations
  • Work with third parties to evaluate potential solutions in support of the business
  • Strong understanding of statistics and/or data science to aid in the implementation of machine learning initiatives

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Microsoft Excel – advanced to expert
  • Ability to extrapolate data into usable content
  • Experience with SQL, T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS
  • SSIS – experience building and troubleshooting packages
  • SSRS – ability to build and deploy complex reports
  • Strong project management skills
  • Data warehousing: ETL, data cleansing, data modeling
  • Strong leadership and presentation skills
  • Proven success in problem solving
  • Experience with BI tools such as Qlikview
  • .NET experience preferred, not required
  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years experience in data analytics
  • 2+ years management/lead experience
