Market Credit Systems Analyst serves as liaison between business community and the IT organization and IT departments to gather, interpret and document business requirements and translate into application requirements, operational requirements, use cases and test cases to provide technical solutions.
JOB DUTIES
- Understands the basic principles, theories and concepts related to the profession and learns how to apply them within the ERCOT culture.
- Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
- Contributes to specific objectives and outcomes as directed.
- Defines data requirements and maintains comprehensive understanding of the aggregate systems environment in order to identify critical interfaces and implementation strategies
- Uses understanding of IT systems to design and maintain database structures
- Develops complex SQL queries and reports and support other activities as needed by the Risk Management, Credit Administration and Treasury teams
- Reports and resolves data issues and inconsistencies to the processing and outputs to maintain normal systems operations used by internal and external stakeholders
- Developing and managing SAS programs and internal reports using Base SAS, SAS Macros and SAS SQL
- Creating test scenarios and associated test data
- Developing SQL queries/reports as needed
- Validating complex calculations
- Leads model testing efforts and designs key test scripts
- Able to develop knowledge and expertise of ERCOT Protocols, data integration, business processes, and computation methodologies
- Performs validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy
- Uses test results to interpret system logic and recommend alternative testing or approaches in the event of exceptions
- Conducts quality assurance of calculations, processes, procedures, and data integration for systems and programs used to assess market risk and financial conditions
- Prepares reports defining and evaluating problems and recommending solutions
- Generates data extracts and reports requested by internal ERCOT staff, market participants and regulators
- Identifies and recommends improvements to information technology procedures and software to improve accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
- Communicates issues and resolution status to colleagues and upper management
- Performing and assisting in functional, regression, integration and user acceptance testing activities
- Logging defects and managing them to closure
- Providing additional system support for CMM
- Contributing to development of training materials
- Providing additional support for implementation and maintenance of Moody’s Analytics tool
- Validating Counter-Party Bi-Weekly eFactors update
- Validating Counter-Party bilateral trades
- Validating post-auction CRR results
Experience Required
Level 2 Requirements:
- Requires minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in Systems Analysis
- Requires minimum of 2 years with data validation, quality assurance and integrated processes in a quantitative / analytical field
- Prefer minimum 2 years experience in a position requiring knowledge of ERCOT Protocols as they relate to risk management
Senior Level Requirements:
- Requires minimum 5 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements
- Requires minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Systems Analysis
- Requires minimum of 4 years with data validation, quality assurance and integrated processes in a quantitative / analytical field
- Prefer minimum 2 years experience in a position requiring knowledge of ERCOT Protocols as they relate to risk management
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree : Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related field (Required)
- or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required
- WORK LOCATION:
- The majority of job duties can be performed remotely from your Texas residence.
- May be required to be on-site at the Taylor or Austin facilities at least once a month, or more based on the business needs and as determined by the Manager
- Work arrangements are subject to business needs and are subject to change accordingly.
There is one position available. It is open to a Level 2 or Senior Level Analyst depending on the experience of the candidate that is identified.
