How would you like to spend your summer? If you are interested in putting your interest in Machine Learning (ML) and Signal Processing (SP) skills to use on challenging programs that integrate these two exciting technologies, a summer internship at Expedition Technology (EXP) is a great place to start.
Expedition Technology is seeking interns for the summer of 2023 to support our projects and learn applied machine learning and signal processing techniques. We are especially interested in candidates with an interest in one or more of the following areas:
- Machine-learning, including deep-learning
- Image and video processing
- Digital signal processing
- Data science and analysis
- Navigation and tracking
Successful applicants will work closely with senior engineers to support one of our programs, potentially including a combination of conceptual R&D and product development. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Analyze signals from various sources (communications, radar, etc.)
- Work with the data processing pipeline for machine learning systems that process signal processing data
- Train machine learning systems and analyze the results
- Work on real-world problems that involve all of the above
Requirements
- Must be currently attending college or university pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, computer science, computer engineering, physics, math or related field of study
- Some experience with programming in Python (Python strongly preferred, Matlab acceptable)
- Proven interest in machine learning/deep learning, signal processing or computer vision through course selection, extra-curricular club activities and/or personal reading or projects
- U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Comfort with command line basics, experience with Linux would be very helpful
- Basic experience with Git
- Proven interest in signal processing through course selection, extra-curricular club activities and/or personal reading or projects
- Have completed a Signals & Systems course (or similar)
Students with graduation dates of December 2023 or May 2024 (rising seniors and/or rising second-year grad students) very strongly preferred.
