Job Summary:
CSI Analytics goal is to solve problems and inform decision-making through innovation, collaboration, and technical expertise to help our clients and internal stakeholders. The Data Analytics & Visualization Specialist will work within the Operational Excellence – CSI Analytics team within Optimization Services to deliver market leading data visuals incorporating exceptional storytelling aiming to drive insight and decision making.
As Data Analytics & Visualization Specialist you’ll be responsible for the identification and capture of data points; inspection and cleansing of data; transforming data into meaningful reports and dashboards via creative story-telling and design which provides explanatory and exploratory analysis; identification of trends and opportunities for improvement; creating valuable insights, recommendations and forecast value of return / return of investment, present findings/observations and providing conclusions/recommendations to key stakeholders to support decision making and continual service improvement.
The Data Analytics & Visualization Specialist will be guided by CSI Data Analytics Lead and Deputy Lead however, is expected to own and drive continuous improvement initiatives / projects and be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
Essential Functions of the Job:
This Data Analytics & Visualization Specialist will responsible for delivering high-quality, data-driven analysis and solutions to meet and exceed client expectations. Standard work includes:
- Designing, building & deploying data warehouse, predictive & prescriptive data modeling, ETL Automation, troubleshooting and problem solving technical & non-technical challenges.
- Creating exceptional visualization that stands out from the crowd and delivers impactful insight that improves decision making.
- Use storytelling techniques to clearly communicate the value of visualizations ensuring they are accessible, engaging, innovative, and relevant to target audiences enabling clients to extract maximum insight.
- Establish high-end data visualization standards to deliver exceptional data visualizations.
- Proactively explore and research new tools, processes and techniques to periodically raise standards.
- Designing, building & deploying intelligent dashboards
- Supporting the devolvement of business intelligence platform within the CSI Analytics team.
- Follow quality controls and departmental standards to ensure quality standards, regulatory requirements, Testing/UAT Process and review that all data security/privacy requirements are fulfilled.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Great knowledge of Data Visualization standards, techniques and best practice.
- Manifests a strong analytical and problem-solving ability to negotiate complex and conflicting issues, handle ambiguity as well as multiple and shifting priorities and to generate innovative solutions and provide consistent exceptional customer experience.
- Ability to comprehend business needs, convert them into BRD & TRD (Business/Technical requirement document), develop implementation roadmap and execute on time.
- Adapts communication style to the style of others. Develops rapport and remains calm under pressure. Builds strong relationships across all levels of a matrixed, geographically and culturally dispersed organization utilizing advanced oral and written English communication skills.
Supervision Responsibilities:
This role will have no direct supervision responsibilities, however is expected to provide guidance, expertise support, coaching and mentoring to less experienced Data Analytics specialists in the team.
Other Requirements:
The role will also require the periodic allocation of additional time on the job to support multiple demands and escalating issues or to accommodate teams or staff in other time zones.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in working as a data analytics, business intelligence and visualization role.
Data Visualization:
- Expert experience in designing, developing and producing interactive data visualizations, graphical dashboards and reports.
- Expert level experience in Power-BI with extensive knowledge of DAX.
- Experience with Tableau will be an added advantage
- Expert level in developing custom visuals with compelling data stories that explain the underlying dataset
- Practical knowledge and programming skills to create data visualization from start to end (data wrangling, analysis, and visualization)
- Experience with D3, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, Typescript is desirable
Data Mining:
- Ability to easily connect with multiple data sources and develop dashboards that run at an optimized speed
- Great experience and understanding of data optimization techniques
- Data cleansing/formatting using SQL, Python or any other tool used for data analysis would be advantageous
Project Management:
- Strong experience in project management with expertise in project planning, budget, estimation, managing daily tasks, risks management and mitigation.
Additional Requirement
- Provide 3 samples (printed out) of high-end data visualization dashboards with your CV submission. During the interview stage, a presentation of the dashboard is required to showcase the different types of visualization you have created to promote the focused dataset.
