Who we are looking for
A Business Analyst (BA) for the Data Warehouse is a hands-on business focused role, which is an integral part of State Street’s Alpha Data Platform (ADP). The candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate both with business and technical teams daily. Data Warehouse is a core component providing current and historical information to support direct query, Business Intelligence (BI) reporting, historical trend analysis, and data extraction to client applications.
The scope of work includes understanding the strategic vision of ADP and shaping the long-term Data Warehouse roadmap. It requires decomposing short- and long-term objectives into detailed consumable business requirements, while continually working with both business and technology teams to ensure the final delivery of features. The position is located in Burlington, Massachusetts, USA.

What you will be responsible for
As a Data Warehouse Business Analyst you will
- Contribute in the planning and communication of the roadmap
- Solicit business requirements from internal and external clients
- Collaborate with the product managers to deliver warehouse features to meet their initiatives
- Participate in an agile development team to manage backlog items and assist in release planning
- Synthesize high level functionality into detailed business requirements and use cases that can be consumable by technology teams
- Model new financial domains to me current and future data needs
- Provide second level support to data operation and service teams when necessary

- Solid understanding of the major business areas of investment management and the data domains that support them
- Ability to collaborate seamlessly with many different teams including business, technology, UI/UX, QA and support
- Experience with the development, operation, or support of data warehouses
- Understanding of data modeling design and its business use cases
- Be a voice for the client to champion features and functionality which provide the greatest value
- Demonstrate the flexibility and adaptability to operate successfully in such an environment
- Strong SQL query or BI reporting knowledge is desirable
- Independent and creative thinker, with the ability to propose, substantiate, and promote ideas and views on features and functionality
- Self-starter, works independently, and curious to figure out how things work
Additional requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or Accounting
- Financial Services is highly preferred
- Experience in a data architecture or data modeling role is preferred
- Experience with data management, data operation, and support services of financial applications is a plus
- Experience in an agile development team is a plus
- Working with remote teams
