The FRFS Data Platform team is part of the Architecture and Platform business line within the Federal Reserve Financial Services enterprise. The FRFS Data Platform team has a vision of providing a consistent user experience with FRFS data for internal and external users while reducing risk and expense associated with many silos of data management. The team collaborates across the enterprise to assess and execute on opportunities that enables the business to make data-driven decisions.
As a Business Intelligence/Data Analyst, you will have a direct impact on the business by helping our growing Data Platform team ensure the quality and security of the Federal Reserve’s Financial Services data. You will help drive business decisions by collaborating with end users to assess, analyze and scope needs across multiple internal and external data sources. You will help identify and interpret trends and patterns in data sets as well as provide insight into actionable dashboards. Additionally, this role will be responsible for collecting, cleansing, analyzing and validating data prior the data being stored for use by the organization and its stakeholders and clients. This role is an exciting opportunity to wear multiple data-hats while helping the team mature and deliver important data initiatives.
- Automates data from multiple complex data sets or domains
- Consults or serves as a technical expert in assigned area(s) to brainstorm data solutions utilizing domain knowledge for stakeholders
- Utilizes data mining to extract information from multiple data sets, provides intermediate to complex data analysis and monitors data quality
- Creates and interprets intermediate to complex reports and analysis for stakeholders utilizing multiple data sets
- Supports and leads efforts around, and designs testing of controls ensuring data integrity and adherence with requirements and guidelines
- Assists in translating business need to design and develop tools, metrics and dashboards for insight and data visualization
- Prepares and presents both orally and in written form, findings and assessments concerning complex matters or institutions to internal and external stakeholders
- Builds and maintains strategic work relationships and networks with both internal and external stakeholders, such as other Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors
- Serves as a mentor and/or coach; provides technical expertise and constructive feedback; trains and helps develop staff members
- 3+ years industry experience as a business analyst, data analyst, data governance analyst, or in a data quality management role
- Strong understanding of databases and data structures
- Experience developing best practices, policies, and/or procedures
- Experience with process design, implementation, and improvement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with multiple teams to drive alignment and results
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills
- Attention to detail, and commitment to deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, quantify, and effectively raise business risks associated with data quality or non-compliance
- Bachelor’s degree with specialization in an information technology field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience
- Prior exposure to Microsoft SQL, Oracle SQL, Salesforce, Tableau
- Prior exposure to finance regulations such as SOX, and data regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PCI
- Experience using scaled agile practices and tools (ex. JIRA) to manage work execution
