Overview

Under program management direction the Business Systems Analyst will lead efforts to collect requirements and present recommendations for resolution or escalation. Expectations are to ensure project goals are articulated, customer needs are met, the security assurance process for SASTeC is up to date. Responsibilities will include interviewing stakeholders, documenting requirements, writing use cases, organizing training, participating in security assurance and compliance activities and developing technical diagrams that outline process and data flows. You will work directly with our District customers, vendors, IT teams and the leadership team and sponsors of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Help create a comprehensive overview of the system and its functionality, by preparing detailed business and technical documentation to support projects
  • Follow system change management process and update all relevant documentation once change is approved.
  • Participate in and communicate the resolution of issues with appropriate customers.
  • Lead cross team analysis efforts to result in good decisions, by finding the root cause(s), develop alternative solutions and recommend the best solutions for the situation.
  • Lead efforts to satisfy ad-hoc management and customer requests that require analysis.
  • Review business problems from different viewpoints and angles to provide a complete picture of all of the components and allow for development of solutions to solve the core problem.
  • Build relationships with individuals inside and outside of the organization.
  • Assist Project Managers, Managers and teammates in drafting reports, project related documents, conducting research on topics.
  • Participate in training to users and support personnel.
  • Coordinate our information security assurance and compliance activities with internal and external resources.

Qualifications

  • B.A., B.S. degree with a major or specialized courses in Computer Science or related field of study or commensurate experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience required.
  • Practiced knowledge of customer relations / services skills working with the infrastructure team including technical and business staff.
  • Presentation experience with MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and/or SharePoint.
  • Practiced knowledge of problem identification and resolution skills as well as promoting process improvement.
  • Practiced understanding of performing business process analysis, mapping, and design.
  • Practiced knowledge of working on managed projects and participation in task prioritization.
  • Practiced understanding of conducting requirements analysis, meeting with business owners, and performing current state system analysis.
  • Practiced understanding of developing use cases and user stories is required including strong analytics skills.
  • Practiced understanding of testing applications including functional, security, system and integration, and accessibility.
  • Have a service and solutions mentality.
  • Experience influencing different groups or individuals.
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower pay grade and/or salary.
  • Travel (10%).

Salary: $90,000 – $110,000
