About the opportunity
Department Description
The Finance Technology function provides systems development, implementation and support services for FIL’s Finance Team. We support several functions spanning across Business Finance & Management Accounting, Financial Accounting & Analytics, Taxation, Global Procurement, Corporate Treasury, and several other teams in all of FIL’s international locations, including UK, Japan, China and India.
We provide IT services to the Fidelity International businesses, globally. These include development and support of business functions that underpin our financial accounting and decision making for global CFO Orgs, and we implement multiple systems including ERP platforms, home grown apps and third party products. We are system providers to key process lifecycles such as Procure to Pay (P2P/Global Procurement), Record to Report (R2R), Order to Cash (O2C), Acquire to Retire (A2R). We also manage systems to enable cash management, forex trading and treasury operations across the Globe. We own warehouses that consolidate data from across the organisations functions to provide meaningful insights.
We are currently running a major multi-year global transformation programme that includes construction of critical new in-house applications, catering to several functional workstreams.
Purpose of your role
This vacancy is for a highly motivated Lead Business Analyst to facilitate delivery of projects and technology change initiatives in this area.
The right candidate must be able to understand the domain, the products, work with business day to day to facilitate requirements, query and analyse data and work with the technology team in delivering the solutions. The role requires the candidate to have an understanding of the database, underlying table structure, be able to query the tables and do the analysis.
Essential Skills & Key Responsibilities
- Expertise in P2P domain which includes Procurement, Advanced Procurement – Complex & Service Procurement, Account Payables, Expenses (Concur), Procurement Contracts & Sourcing.
- P2P functional implementation experience including Interfaces & RICE objects with other legacy applications.
- Leading the business analysis capability in the procurement space, building excellent business connect, influencing and negotiating between tech and business.
- Capture & clarification of business requirements through a range of analysis techniques for the Business (data flow diagrams, case tool analysis, gap analysis and work & process flow diagrams)
- Function as a techno-functional resource and assist in designing solutions for business
- Understand the business data in depth, analyse key performance indicators and use the same to analyse the requirements further
- Obtaining agreement on business analysis deliverables and ensuring that they meet all the requirements of the business
- Proactively working with business to identify, define, and clarify the scope / issues in terms of complex business/systems requirements.
- Identify options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability/feasibility
- Working with business to capture & clarify business requirements & support business & technology teams in data analysis, in UAT phase etc.
- Acting as a proxy customer with the development teams, facilitating open communication between the customer & development team
- Driving user acceptance criteria with the customer
- Aware of the AGILE terminologies and should have knowledge of AGILE tools like JIRA, Confluence etc.
- Basic knowledge of PL/SQL for data querying & analysis will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to MS Office products like Visio and Excel
Experience and Qualifications
- 7-9 years relevant business analysis experience preferably with a financial services firm
- Graduation in Commerce/Economics or MBA (Finance/Systems) preferred.
- Good knowledge of database & reporting technologies/systems
- Understanding of the concepts around the different asset classes like VC, PI, Real estate etc.
- Knowledge of accounting concepts in P2P domain, should understand enterprise structure, knowledge of GL and Account Receivables will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to structured software development life-cycle methodology (preferably Agile or Iterative development)
- Experience of working with multi-cultural teams in a geographically diverse environment
