Department Description
Global Risk:
The risk team in Fidelity covers the management oversight of Fidelity’s risk profile including key risk frameworks, policies and procedures and oversight and challenge processes. The team partner with the businesses to ensure Fidelity manages its risk profile within defined risk appetite.
The team is circa 100-strong, and growing, covering all facets of risk management including investment, operational, enterprise, and technology risk. The function is currently being strengthened to enhance global risk type coverage across FILs regions.
Investment Management Risk Oversight:
The Investment Risk Oversight team forms part of Global Risk and is responsible for the framework and governance of all aspects of Investment Risk including market risk, derivatives risk, sub-advised risk, fund liquidity risk and fund counterparty risk. The team also provides oversight of the Operational Risk within the Investment Team and EUC Risk across the organisation.
The India business and operations team works upon providing data analytics solutions to enable data driven Risk oversight on Investment data sourced from multiple sources.
Purpose of your role
The primary purpose of this role is to use python infrastructure to support the remediation of End User Computing (EUCs) within Investment Risk with focus on documenting the current processes and identifying and addressing areas for improvement. Current EUCs in use include Python code, Excel, Access and VBA.
The individual may also be required to design and develop in python for new EUCs in order to meet new business requirements, product launches or regulatory requirements. All remediation and development activity must be in line with FIL’s EUC Policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on different python frameworks with focus on data analytics
- Rewrite code in python language and produce new code to implement agreed improvements
- Enable code to be run on a more regular and robust basis including the implementation of appropriate error handling and logs
- Conduct thorough unit and system testing to ensure all changes have been applied correctly
- Provide BAU technology production support for EUC applications
- Review and document current end-to-end processes
- Map functions to End User Computing (EUC) applications and the inventory
- Become familiar with enterprise architecture and understand the relationship with EUCs in use
- Identify and define areas for improvement, to support risk mitigation and efficiency
- Provide development support to EUC owners, logging and correcting priority issues
- Implement appropriate change control process and maintain development backlog
- Produce/ provide regular status reports
This role sits within the Investment Risk Operations team and the individual will be expected to support the build, development for Investment Risk & Analytics team.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Proven Python development/programming experience within an Asset Management or Financial Services environment with a track record of successful implementations
- Experienced with Python frameworks focussed on data
- Excellent skills/expertise in Python, SQL, VBA, Excel and Access.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on mentality
- Good experience with process definition, data mapping and documentation
- Delivery and results focused with the ability to work in a challenging environment
- Excellent inter-personal, communication, documentation skills
- Dedicated to maintaining high standards including attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and to tight deadlines
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Nice to have skills in Power BI reports & dashboards.
