The Role
Fidelity is looking for an accomplished data governance and analytics leader to continue to drive the reduction of accidental data misuse and loss through data privacy and protection initiatives within our Workplace Investing (WI) division. This person will also develop and implement improvements in data usability (e.g., data quality, subject matter knowledge). This work will span a wide range of data, systems, technology, processes, and people while being part of a team of talented individual contributors. The Data Enablement COE (Center of Excellence) brings a diverse and specialized set of skills across data governance, analytics, and data engineering, partnering together to improve Fidelity’s overall data ecosystem.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
- 3+ years’ experience leveraging tools that enable analytic insights, including SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, etc.,
- 5+ years of business analysis experience within the financial industry, including requirements gathering, project management experience, and in-depth analysis. This role requires a broad knowledge of WI applications and business processes.
- 3+ years of access management specific to resource ownership to ensure the appropriate use of data.
- Experience with data management and governance software, specifically Alation and/or Collibra are preferred; experience or working knowledge of BigID would be useful.
- Solid understanding of data privacy laws and policies such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc. and their implications are preferred.
- Experience in outlining acceptable uses of data and work collaboratively with Legal, Risk and Compliance teams on protecting and securing sensitive customer information
- Experience working with stakeholders to facilitate understanding of privacy issues and drive improvements to reduce privacy incidents.
- Experience and desire to work with data owners, data stewards, and technical custodians to facilitate data usability improvement initiatives, that may include data quality, business definition clarity, knowledge articles and providing subject matter expertise.
- Basic understanding of cloud and big data technologies (e.g. Snowflake, AWS & Azure)
- Naturally collaborative across business and technology, including remote teams, both on and offshore and serving as a go-between for technology and business.
- Experience and desire to apply agile techniques (scrum, Kanban, etc.) to deliver iterative value to internal customers
- Highly proficient in PowerPoint and other Microsoft applications
- Demonstrated track record of customer-focused engagement and collaboration is required
- Facilitate best practice sharing and adoption across organization

- You will be working on a team to reduce the misuse of data by leading privacy experiments, performing research on privacy issues, and improving our data quality, governance, and knowledge across Fidelity’s Workplace Investing division.
- Working across the Workplace Investing division, you will help continue to transform data into one of our most valuable assets.
- You will directly influence Fidelity’s enterprise data management through engagement with the Enterprise Data Management Council & sub-teams defining operating models, best practices, etc., to help scale and align successful data governance across the firm
- As a continuous learner you will stay abreast of the latest innovations across analytics, data governance, and data privacy to maintain your world-class expertise.
