The Team
Workplace Consulting is a group within Fidelity’s Workplace Investing built to serve and partner with Fidelity’s strategic external clients on their data and technology needs. The Client Technology Team’s dynamic and diverse skillsets are leveraged to complete sophisticated and exciting projects in partnership with both internal and external partners.
We design and build customized solutions to address unique scenarios on behalf of clients. We extract data from a variety of sources (WIDE database schema, client feeds/files, etc.), transform the data to aggregate, translate or apply calculations, then output the results to Client files, Mainframe SCF files or databases. You will wear several hats working to develop, execute unit testing, adopt new technologies to improve existing processes all while analyzing outputs for accuracy and alignment to requirements.
We engage across Workplace Consulting in data quality improvement efforts that span single and multiple product lines (i.e., Health and Welfare, Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution, Stock Plan Services and HR/Payroll).
We are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst to support the Defined Benefit projects, however, there will be opportunities to grow your knowledge and gain experience working with the other WI products!
The Expertise You Have

Strong domain knowledge of the WI Defined Benefit business, data process flows and recordkeeping processes

Knowledge of SQL to write efficient and highly optimized queries across large volumes of data

Proficiency with ETL methods and tools – Informatica preferred; experience with cloud based ETL tools a plus (e.g., Azure Data Factory)

Knowledge of Fidelity backend product tables (WIDE, Snowflake, etc.)

Proven background with Microsoft Office products

A willingness to find uncommon solutions to complex problems and an ability to work with little or ambiguous direction

You are comfortable working with data and figuring out how the data is structured within Relational databases (Sybase, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)

You have outstanding communication skills – both verbal and written – with the confidence and composure to connect with business partners in gathering, understanding, and translating their requirements

Your love of solving complex problems, ability to navigate ambiguous situations, and your ability to help solution innovative ways to mitigate risk using your advanced analytical and critical thinking skills

Working with consultants across Data, Healthcare, Retirement, Communications and Administration consulting practices on a wide variety of projects, you will develop and maintain processes, identify data issues and root cause analysis which you will help your clients resolve. You will be encouraged to take an active part in crafting solutions and making decisions about how to implement solutions.
