The Role
Are you driven by curiosity and love to seek answers? We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with hands on experience in software as well as data engineering along with operations. You will have the opportunity to contribute to Personal Investing’s Technology Insights and Analytics team’s API and Data journey by being part of a fast-paced organization that focuses on designing and implementing engineering solutions such as APIs and DevOps, Authentication and Authorization. The team is also tasked with driving the overall data strategy for Platform Engineering.
This is a hands-on data engineering role that requires strong technical skills and knowledge of cloud automation tools, & software engineering methods. You will also need strong communication skills to cater to the needs of the delivery teams across the business.
In this role you will deal with a variety of different tools and technologies. You will craft secure, scalable, resilient cloud-based services.
- Independently research, recommend and build features and technical solutions that provide accurate answers to relevant questions.
- Create automated data pipelines that include data automated profiling governance, tracking, reporting and visualization of data lineage.
- Share your business and technical knowledge with peers, partners, and management through effective communication.
- Deliver solutions that empower users to generate their own insights and answers to questions relevant to them.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a Technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent experience
- AWS certifications would be helpful, but not mandatory
- Experience with languages such as: Python, Shell Scripting, Javascript, Java, Typescript
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with: CloudFormation, YAML, Vault, Bitbucket, Artifactory, CloudWatch, Splunk and Datadog.
- Pipeline automation tools: Jenkins, Jenkins Core, and uDeploy, Spark, Data Build Tool (DBT)
- Experience with DevSecOps in general and infrastructure as code concepts, and source code tools like Git.
- PostgreSQL database administration and operations.
- Expertise with developing and implementing RESTful APIs
- Expertise in GraphQL tools like Hasura and Apollo, but not required.
- Strong dedication to high quality and standards for your code and your team’s code.
- Strong desire and interest in learning new cloud technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to mentor individuals and teams on your proficiencies and skills.
