Senior Manager, Market & Business Intelligence

The Senior Manager, Market & Business Intelligence will help our team to align and integrate with key business partners and develop research that advises all aspects of the business cycle – from investment product development to enhancing the client experience. Your primary business partners in this role will be product management, distribution and finance as our research helps Fidelity Institutional and Asset Management understand and adapt to the evolving competitive landscape and the changing investment needs of our clients.
The Expertise & Skills You Have
- 5 – 7 years’ experience in investment industry; ideally in research, business strategy, investor segment or product management
- Strong understanding of investment concepts and asset classes, as well as distribution within intermediary, institutional and retirement channels
- Experience working with sales, flows and other competitive data to support product and distribution strategy, including via industry databases such as Simfund, eVestment, Broadridge
- Proven track record of turning data into actionable insights to support executive decision-making
- Your colleagues describe you as a strategic problem solver having a detailed understanding of various industry trends, investor segments and investment approaches which you regularly use to add new value to our organization
- Defining, scoping and leading research projects from start to finish will be one of your strongest traits
- You enjoy distilling industry data into insightful intelligence and answering the question “what does this mean for our business?”
- Relationship building skills and ability to work horizontally and vertically within the organization will serve you well
- Strong communication and presentation skills will be essential, particularly the ability to explain sophisticated concepts in a simple, straightforward manner
The Value You Deliver
- Synthesize quantitative/qualitative intelligence and prepare comprehensive research studies on various investor segments; such studies would include market size, growth, structure, key players, barriers to entry, distribution models, competitive advantages/disadvantages
- Help communicate and implement our team’s vision, values and operating model that aligns and informs Fidelity’s key initiatives
- Explore innovative ideas by using existing team skills and new data sources, tools, techniques to provide forward-looking insights
- Conduct market demand analysis for Fidelity Institutional and Asset Management’s existing investment strategies and participate in discussions that inform the development of new capabilities
