Job Description
This position is responsible for business process analysis, software development, and technology solutions for the entire organization. The Business Systems Analyst position has a deep understanding of business processes, the technology that supports the process, and experience in translating the business processes and projects into detailed systems requirements for development projects.
Major Duties And Responsibilities (essential Functions)
- Proactively communicates and collaborates with business units to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements, business requirements, use cases, GUI design, and screen and interface designs).
- Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishes user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
- Leads and challenges business units on their assumptions and processes to drive successful business requirements and definitions.
- Collaborates with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group; executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES
- Provides support to business departments for report writing and other query functions.
- Travels to other bank locations to gather requirements, train, and other functions required as it relates to developing and delivering software and technology solutions.
- Performs other duties as requested by Executive Management or Supervisor.
- Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
- Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
- Dresses professionally.
- Recommends to supervisor possible methods to improve department.

Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS, or other related field.
- One or more years experience in a business analyst role.
Technical/Functional Competencies
- AS400 (Query, SQL, RPG, Excel, CL) skills.
- Laser Pro skills
- Loan origination system experience (Decision Pro experience a plus)
- Crystal Reports or other report writer skills.
- Requirements writing skills using automated tools.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Good problem-solving and decision making skills.
- Demonstrates good judgment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a wide range of people.
- Ability to communicate well with customers by all means of communication including written, verbal, and non-verbal communication.
- Willingness to accept additional responsibilities.
- Dependable and adheres to time lines and schedules.
- Takes initiative in development and completion of projects.
