A Brief Overview
Entry level of professional quantitative analyst work. Works in one or more areas of financial risk analysis under the direction of senior staff and management. Job functions include compilation of financial data from multiple sources, such as accounting, mainframe, vendors, public sources, and elsewhere in aiding to create statistics and reports which are used in the analysis of the company’s financial position under varying scenarios and using various financial models. This position will assist with using various models and software to complete regulatory, stress-testing, and other various economic what-if scenarios. This position will aid in documenting the company’s ALM and/or other processes as they evolve.
What you will do
- Provide analytical support of the use of company’s ALM model
- Perform portfolio stress testing and market risk modeling
- Analyze prepayment model output for mortgage backed securities and portfolio loans
- Conduct periodic back-testing of other model outputs and tuning of model assumptions
- Explain ALM process for independent model validations
- Assist with the creation of reports and dashboards using Tableau
- Statistical analysis and summarization of large data sets
- Conduct testing of software updates and customizations
- Maintain current knowledge and research new financial regulations
- Execute non-Maturity deposit modeling and stress testing
- Assist with the preparation of reports for use by Senior Management, including Funds Management Committee reports
- Participate in projects as determined by Senior Management
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
- Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy
Minimum Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in related field.
- A combination of post-high school education, job related certification and related experience equivalent to 3 years may be considered in lieu of a degree
Preferred Requirements
- Capital markets experience
- Asset-Liability Management (“ALM”) experience
- Experience with ZM
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Moderate knowledge of statistics and experience with “R”
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Fixed income accounting and understanding of accretion, amortization, premium, discount, and financial mathematics
- Strong understanding of the banking industry and its product lines
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day
- Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms
- Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights
- Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files
- Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone
- Must be able to exchange accurate information
Salary Range
$31.75 Per Hour to $42.43 Per Hour
