FIS JOB LEVEL DESCRIPTION
Career level professional role requiring extensive skill and proficiency. Works independently with only administrative supervision on highly complex projects with extensive latitude for independent judgment. Expected to mentor others on staff and is a role model for rest of team. Effectively communicates with all levels of technical and non-technical personnel. Understands how EPM system integrates with other FIS applications and solutions. Designs solutions and determines specific actions required to solve identified business needs. Ability to provide communication on issues or complex information to a wide audience based on knowledge. Participates in strategic planning and direction. Develops, documents, and implements standards, guidelines, direction, and education on process/procedures for staff. Assigned to highly visible, sensitive, and critical systems. Typically requires a minimum of five years of experience with a developing in an EPM system.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzes user requirements to determine DRM/EDMCS system configuration and/or customization, evaluates business need for system customizations, and produces technical designs for identified customizations.
- Analyzes systems specifications and uses the latest analysis tools to represent business/technical processes in a system solution.
- Codes individual modules and functions as identified through technical design, develops conversion and implementation plans and ensures successful implementation of EPM system changes, monitoring changes for increased efficiency.
- Takes proactive measures to ensure optimal application and system performance and works with DRM Systems Architect to address any issues.
- Writes and executes thorough technical test plans to ensure system changes are working properly including the use of batch scripts, online processes, databases or interface files.
- Ensures migrated changes are properly implemented and available to users.
- Coordinates with Business analysts and/or other internal professionals to define detailed requirements, analyze business needs and validate solutions with clients and translate into configuration and/or customization technical design.
- Through research and knowledge of EPM systems and applications, determines most effective technical approach to define and resolve identified problem(s) with assistance and minimal client impact.
- Provides new and innovative alternative solutions to system and application challenges.
- Actively participates in the Agile ceremonies and assists the team with PI planning preparation and user story creation.
- Other related duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner
- Great understanding of DRM/EDMCS system customization and use of recognized best practices
- Working knowledge of business process flows in an EPM system
- Experience in full life cycle development with an emphasis on incremental, iterative development and deployment
- In-depth knowledge of EPM system development tools and languages is required, as well as an in-depth knowledge of EPM system configuration and security
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable working with data warehouse and experience with ETL processes
- Experience operating in an agile scrum team using Agile software such as Rally or JIRA
- Working knowledge of relational databases (MSSQL, Oracle DB) including relevant ETL solutions
- Experience in common scripting languages (Windows batch, Unix Shell, JavaScript, HTML, XML, SQL)
