About the team
The Legal team is comprised of approximately 225 attorneys and paraprofessionals worldwide who enjoy being an advisor to and partner with our businesses to help the company achieve its goals. We work collaboratively with each other and with our business colleagues to solve problems in an effective and pragmatic manner. We view our role as one of supporting our business leaders in a variety of legal matters, and we strive to assist our businesses in meeting their objectives with sound, reasonable and well-considered legal counsel.
We are seeking a LEGAL DATA ANALYST to join the Legal Technology & Operations team, providing support for the entire Legal team, where our vision is to empower the Legal team to increase efficiency and effectiveness through innovative technology and processes.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for reviews legal contract documents and collecting data from contract documentation for storage in electronic databases, including identifying and analyzing information regarding clients, products, services, and other key information. You will assist in the analysis and management of legal and non-legal data and legal contracts. You will research and resolve problems and inquiries relating to contracts and electronic databases. In this role, you will also perform entry-level project management functions, working with the FIS Legal team., including the Document and Data management teams. Projects will be focused on the Legal team, but may include additional cross-enterprise issues involving sales, finance/accounting, operations, or other non-technical subjects.
You will also:
- provide operational support to the Legal team.
- enforce database standards and follow up on inconsistencies.
- plan and coordinate assigned aspects of non-technical projects from initiation through delivery, and assist in ensuring that requirements for internal projects align to operational standards.
- assist in establishing new and maintaining existing procedures for consistent legal processes and standards; help enforce processes and policies.
- assist in the analysis and management of legal contracts. You will research and resolve problems and inquiries relating to contracts and electronic databases.
- review legal contract documents and collect data from contract documentation for storage in electronic databases, including identifying and analysing information regarding clients, products, services, and other key information.
- research and maintain accurate client-specific and contract-specific data in database, and perform quality checks on contract and client data to ensure database integrity and indexing.
- collaborate with attorneys, paraprofessionals, sales executives, product business managers, and others to maintain accurate contract information.
What you bring:
- You must have a college degree or an equivalent combination of education and business experience.
- You must be comfortable with technology and the use of technology tools in performing your daily work responsibilities.
- You must have strong organizational skills.
- You must have a general knowledge of standards and best practices relevant to database management.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within the Legal team and cross-functionally.
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, and manage competing priorities effectively and independently, including driving results and delivering to deadlines.
- You must be dependable, flexible and versatile. You must have the ability to take initiative, research, and solve problems using learned techniques and tools.
- Proactive approach to recognizing needs, anticipating issues, and solving problems.
- You must be willing to learn about contract management and be able to apply contract administration and practices and concepts.
- You must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy in document review and creation of work product.
- You must have good analytical skills and the ability to effectively interpret and report on data.
- You must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and be able to work collaboratively with other team members, both within the Legal team and in other groups.
- You must have good communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior management, and internal clients.
- Moderate level of proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel is required.
Added bonus if you have:
- Experience or expertise in the payments services or data processing industry, or in working closely with financial institutions on their technology matters.
- Experience with using contract management systems and tools.
