Job Description Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Informatics, the Data Governance Office Manager (DGOM) is transformational building the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) foundation in place to bring Data as a Service (Daas), data analytics and self-service reporting to Florida Cancer Specialists. The DGOM leads enterprise data governance policy formation and process formation. A DGOM leads Clinical Data Analysts (CDA) and Business Intelligence Analysts (BIA) in an agile scrum environment, the DGOM helps to set enterprise data standards to help provide clinical and business insights.
The Data Governance Office Manager is responsible for comprehensive understanding of healthcare data governance, and an education program to increase the data literacy and analytic maturity of the organization. The DGOM will continue to grow and sustain a data governance, stewardship, education programs and analytics assets. This individual will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Architects, Engineers and Data Scientists. The DGOM is expected to help lead business, system and technical stewards in creating organizational data standards. A DGOM is a leader, manager, and influential Informatics team leader to help bring an infinite mindset as to the art of the possible from a ‘trusted data’ perspective. The DGOM must be extremely passionate to deliver healthcare insights to change the standard of care delivered to oncology patients via research and to provide dynamic reports back to the business.
Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
Position Qualifications/Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, computer science, engineering, accounting, finance, management information systems or another related field. In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience is required or the equivalent combination for education and experience
- Healthcare professional degree qualification preferred
- Master’s degree in healthcare administration, analytics, or business administration preferred
Previous Experience:
- Data governance program implementation, policies and stewardship
- Professional clinical experience within clinical oncology preferred
- 3+ years Healthcare leadership, preferably in data governance or analytics preferred
- 5+ years in an active healthcare big-data integration experience with multiple heterogenous data sources with data cleansing and reference/master data management on an enterprise data warehouse to create a centralized ‘trusted data’ set for data analysis
- 5+ years of previous related healthcare experience, and an understanding of data governance assets (source to target mappings (STM), requirements traceability, data catalog, etc.) and training programs
- Reporting and analytic experience with electronic health record (EHR) (e.g. OncoEMR), practice management (e.g. Centricity), next-generation sequencing (NGS), clinical trial management (CTM), pharmacy specific to antineoplastic medications, laboratory and other healthcare ancillary systems
Core Capabilities:
- Ability to collaborate in cross functional teams
- Understanding of clinical data and data quality needs in ambulatory oncology setting
- Collegiate working relationships with Director of Informatics, business stakeholders and stewards to build products that will create the DaaS service line and transform the BI Reporting team
- Be disciplined in understanding growing and contracting business needs to refactor the team and tool sets to thoughtfully set up the Informatics team for success
Computer Skills:
- Profound data governance knowledge of industry best practice and leading software providers (e.g. Informatica, etc.) to assist in data steward implementation, maintenance and support
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
Travel:
- 25%

- Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
