Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Data Collection
a. Pricing
i. Maintaining updated competitive intelligence
1. Prices Coordinating external agency data collection exercise, acquiring competition bills & price lists, whetting through cold calling
2. Volumes Leverage contacts, Coordinating external agency data collection exercise
ii. Specialty strength updating specialty & hospital index
iii. Patient Insight Feedback interviews with patients to judge opinion on prices, service quality etc.
iv. Overall market data TPA rev trends, GIPSA/ non GIPSA split, Retail vs. corporate insurance split, any new hospital coming up
b. Consumption
i. Hospital billing and consumption data Collecting unit consumption and billing data on a monthly basis
ii. Competitive pricing Collecting competitive prices for key high value drugs & consumables items and implants through cold calls, acquisition of competition bills etc.
iii. Supply chain & doctor committee recommendation repository – Maintaining and regularly updating (monthly) supply chain and doctor committee recommendations (CPTC) on preferred brands for drugs, consumables and implants
c. Other workstreams
i. Relevant data pertaining to other analytics, for e.g. capacity utilization, Conversion management, GC optimization, Volume analysis etc.
2. Analytics
a. Pricing
i. Calculating essential data points for Fortis hospitals in region (bill to patient, volume trends, room split, channel split, GC/ bed day etc.)
ii. Carrying out complex analyses – VWD analysis, discretionary discount analysis, price elasticity, cost-benefit analysis of credit business empanelment etc.
iii. Opportunity sizing of proposed recommendations
b. Consumption
i. Calculating essential data for the region – Identifying brands providing best margins for D&C, calculating implant prices charged to patients, D&C procedure cost split by channel, item wise cost and price trends, operator wise costs and item usage trends, regular consumption for key procedures (for BOM creation)
ii. Complex analyses for recommendations – Advanced manipulation of large data sets with statistical methods like median, percentiling etc. and linking multiple large data sets for a consolidated picture across variables
iii. Revising recommendations based on market changes – Revisiting recommendations every 4-6 months based on changes in technology, supply chain negotiations, regulations, competition pricing picture etc.
iv. Opportunity sizing of proposed recommendations
c. Other workstreams
i. Conceptualizing and setting up approach for EBITDA improvement initiatives and operational efficiency measures
ii. Executing analytics using multiple data sources to enable decision support
3. Execution support
a. Pricing
i. Understand internal hospital dynamics – doctor sentiment & issues, FD’s strategic plan, patient feedback
ii. Understand local market dynamics – special discount schemes by competition, regulations (eg: Raj. govt. price check of select tests), seasonality
iii. Lead alignment below FD level – RD/FD level alignment to be done with Central pricing team support
iv. Last mile execution – entry into price list, ensure compliance
b. Consumption
i. Support units with compliance acceleration – Support FD / MS with regular operator level consumption costs, brand usage trends etc. and provide insights for accelerating compliance
ii. Understand local market dynamics – special discount schemes by competition on key D&C, implants, regulations,
iii. Last mile execution – Check modifications to price masters, procurement of only recommended items & validate actual charges levied to patients in bills
iv. Coordination with key stakeholders (central and unit) –
1. Coordination with central supply chain teams and central doctor committees for alignment and buy in on recommendations
2. Alignment with unit teams below the RD / FD level
c. Other workstreams
i. Enable implementation of recommendations by involving relevant stakeholders, track compliance to ensure intended impact is realized
4. Tracking & reporting of key metrics
a. Pricing
i. Preparing reports tracking essential metrics at granular level – bill to patient, vol, GC by room-channel
ii. Preparing accrual report at a quarterly cadence
iii. Red flag report – i.e. sudden vol dip in any procedure
b. Consumption
i. Preparing reports tracking compliance to recommendations
1. Cost trends by payor and operator with granular insights on key items causing deviations
2. Monthly performance indexes on key recommendations
3. Providing a complete picture on compliance across all lever initiatives by coordinating with supply chain team.
4. Preparing accrual report at a quarterly frequency.
Desired Candidate Profile
MBA with 7 – 10yrs of experience in Analytics, Financial planning, Projection, Data Analytics etc.
