Roles and Responsibilities
This role is responsible for leveraging and analyzing data, creating reporting tools, communicating insights, and making data-based recommendations to drive product sales growth, improved customer relationships, and efficiency in the organizations processes. Data resources include syndicated POS, consumer panel, market intelligence, and internal ERP data. Functions this role interacts with include Sales Marketing, Operations, Finance, IT, and Executive functions based in both USA and India.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Governance
- Own the management and maintenance of Harris Freemans syndicated databases (IRI, SPINS, Nielsen) to include aggregate and report integrity from period-to-period
- Coordinate with those involved in the NPD process to ensure new items are properly coded across all major syndicated databases prior to retail launch
- Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to ensure data sources are properly linked, structured, and maintained in all external presentations to safeguard company ethos
- Support sales directors in retail customer line reviews to ensure data and insights are properly received and all customer questions are addressed
- Collaborate with IT to ensure business intelligence platform accuracy and continuity
Routine, Ad-Hoc, & Investigative Reporting
- Actively mine external syndicated POS, consumer panel, market intelligence, and internal ERP data for insights to drive business decision making (example: formulation of product selling stories)
- Collaborate with the business to develop routine, user-friendly POS reports and scorecards to communicate retail trends and insights to key internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor, communicate, and present findings on category trends, own brand sales performance, as well as competitor trends, pricing, distribution, and promotional strategies
- Review POS and internal data to better understand retailer performance and growth opportunities
- Utilize internal ERP and business intelligence platforms to identify appropriate KPIs and develop dashboards to track business performance (examples: sales director performance, forecast accuracy)
Data Sourcing, Contracting, & Relationship Management
- Serve as POC and lead for sourcing external data and intelligence resources, driving the initial scope-of-work, RFP communication, response evaluation, cost negotiations, and contract management
- Monitor existing contractual relationships to ensure spend is maximized given current business needs
- Manage $350K+ annual Analytics & Reporting budget across multiple businesses and divisions
Special Projects & Data Consultation
- Serve as the business subject matter expert on sales analytics and business intelligence platforms
- Communicate what data we have, where to find resources, what analytics can tell us, and how we can use all of this to optimize processes and elevate decision-making
- Educate external marketing campaign partners on current and historical branded sales performance
- Seek opportunities to integrate data and intelligence resources into existing and developing processes with goal of elevating process outcomes (example: involvement in Project Horizon ERP implementation)
Demand Planning (Long Term Add)
- Assist in implementing formal demand planning process to include the transition from nave to statistical forecasting with the help of newly implemented ERP system tools
- Manage and maintain forecast accuracy reporting across multiple businesses
- Co-coordinate and actively participate in monthly S&OP meeting
Desired Candidate Profile
The candidate should have 7-10 years in data analytics and should possess the following
- In depth knowledge on data interpretation and analysis to take informed decisions.
- Industry-relevant skills required by Big Data Analysts, Business Analysts and Data Specialists.
- In depth knowledge of Big Data platforms as per the industry requirements.
- Knowledge of most demanded programming languages R, SAS, Tableau Python, R,JavaScript etc.
- Knowledge of Data Visualization Tools like Tableau, QlikView, Power BI etc.
- Knowledge of tools used for Data Analysis like Hadoop, Map Reduce, YARN, Hive, Pig etc.
- Knowledge of work on integrated projects to solve Business Analytics problems.
- Thorough Understanding of Statistics and Machine Learning Algorithms
- Good communication and presentation skills
Qualification in relevant field will be preferred.
