Overview
As a Data Scientist, you will apply statistical theory and methods to collect, interpret, and summarize data as well as make predictions and recommend actions based on data at a career level. You will be involved with testing new ideas, debugging, and refactoring existing models. You will take responsibility for your code while striving to improve code quality and impact. You will lead complex projects with multiple team members.

- Design, develop, and program methods, processes, and systems to analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights, predictions and solutions for client services and product enhancement.
- Create data miningarchitectures/models/protocols,statistical reporting, and data machine learning algorithms.
- Research and apply knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques.
- Use statistical analysis and programming (SAS, SPSS, R, Python, etc.) to manage and analyze large data sets.
- Interact with business to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.
- Develop and code software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources.
- Identify meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources. Conduct statistical analyses to develop strategies.
- Interpret and communicate insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers. Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.
- Contribute to completion of projects and programs in assigned area of expertise, present information using data visualization techniques.
- Frequently interface with internal and/or external customers and provide guidance to lower level team members.
- Partner with the engineering, machine learning platform, and product teams to deploy models and evaluate the A/B test results.
- Solve a diverse range of complex problems.
- Make significant contributions to department goals and planning efforts.
- Deploy machine learning models.
- Identify data patterns and trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar field
- Master’s degree preferred
- 4 -6 years of industry experience in predictive modeling, data science, and analysis
- Background in data mining and statistical analysis
- Experience using business intelligence tools and data frameworks
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Aptitude for high level programming
- Understanding of relation databases and the ability to query them
- Experience with at least three or more machine learning package/framework such as sciket-learn or TensorFlow
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks
- Strong understanding of probability and statistics
- Ability to broadly apply principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments
- Ability to understand and follow standardized practices and procedures for problem-solving
- Ability to use technical and operational proficiency in solving complex problems
- Functional knowledge of AWS platforms such as S3, Glue, Athena, Sagemaker, Lambda, and EKS
- Ability to accurately determine cause and effect relationships
- Experience in deploying machine learning models and containerize models for production
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
