Frontier is looking for a highly motivated ML & software engineer to work with our Data Science team on exciting initiatives advancing AI based drug discovery to defeat cancer. We have a lot of unique and proprietary data, and we make use of it in a variety of ways including the development of semi-autonomous data driven decision engines. Engineers play a key role in utilizing cutting edge technology and help solve the most complex problems and get to see the impact of their work on the drug discovery process firsthand.
The successful candidate will work closely with data and other scientists to develop, implement and test prototypes. He/she will suggest improvements, ideate and drive iteratively the evolution of the software product by working closely with the end user community. Responsibilities
Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Frontier scientists to develop, design, prototype, test and evolve scientific data and machine learning driven solutions
Architecting and developing AI and machine learning applications, engineering pipelines using full-stack web-based, distributed shallow and deep-learning technologies and big data technologies.
Design and build innovative technologies in a distributed computing environment and help to fundamentally change drug discovery
Solving complex problems with multi-layered data sets, as well as optimizing existing machine learning libraries and frameworks.
Running tests, performing statistical analysis, and interpreting test results.
Be creative and willing to learn in a fast paced environment and quickly changing industry
Requirements
Enrolled in, or received at a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering
Experience in Python programming
Hands on experience with one or more of the following technologies
Back end web-services: Python, Flask, Django, Kubernetes, Docker
Machine Learning: TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch
Basic knowledge of modern AI/ML architecture
Previous industry based internship(s)
Comfortable at handling ambiguous or loosely defined problems as well as ability to think abstractly and creatively
