Overview
FTI is seeking a Data Science Intern for our Huntsville, AL office. Qualified interns must be actively enrolled in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. This position will be filled through the Frontier Technology Inc. Internship program, which celebrates diversity and aims to foster an inclusive workforce that reflects the diverse communities in which we do business. Responsibilities
- Opportunities to develop projects supporting critical missions in areas of specialization within data science, including Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning, Big Data, cyber data science, distributed computing, adversarial machine learning, predictive analytics, data engineering, data architecture, and more.
- Conduct data analysis in support of a variety of analytic solutions.
- Capture, develop, and document data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements.
- Create and produce forecasts, reports, ad hoc requests, dashboards, etc.
- Interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities.
- Develop reports and deliverables for management and communicate with all levels of stakeholders.
- Identify and define both process and data improvements.
- Ensure compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis.
Education/Qualifications
- You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree (rising junior/senior), Master’s or PhD in Data Science/Analytics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- Highly skilled at least one computer programming language (Python preferred but not required)
- Candidates should have an innovative mindset, be considerate and respectful, and able to work independently.
- You should have a desire to work in a diverse team environment and working along a business narrative to solve problems.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively interface with technical and non-technical staff at all organizational levels.
- Ability to work in a team environment, focused on customer support, and adhering to deadlines.
