Job Location: remote
The Data Analyst will also need an overall understanding of general business processes and commercial perspectives and have a passion for supporting big data capabilities that will be used to create new BI predictive analytics and visualization capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Support end to end Data Lake initiatives from business engagement to technology deployment
- Translate customer and business value statements into technical specifications and capabilities
- Coordinate between GBT business stakeholders and technology partners to understand complex business needs, data requirements and then translate requirements into effective data content usable in reporting, visualization and actionable insights
- Administer the documentation of essential information and requirements to be used in the metadata management of new data sources
- Manage information gathering efforts with initial source of record partners
- Support the metadata certification of the complete data lake inventory and ensure all new and existing tables are properly documented in compliance to the DGO metadata management policy
- Interact with technology partners and business stakeholders and users through concise and accurate communications
- Test and validate processes to ensure successful completion and support the creation of valid test scenarios
- Develop and execute robust end-to-end user acceptance test plans
Qualifications Include:
- 5+ years experience with data capabilities / business intelligence / management information
- MUST have strong and seasoned experience with SQL
- 3+ years experience in the travel industry is preferred
- Familiarity with design and development of data warehouse/data mart schemas and ETL processes will be a plus
- Understanding of metadata management, data cataloging, and standardization of assets
- Experience with data governance software solutions will be a plus
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and focus on quality
- Aptitude to solve complex problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and influence across a fast-paced and dynamic environment to achieve results, often progressing multiple competing priorities.
- Highly organized with ability to keep projects moving forward and run from start to finish
- Must be results driven, taking the lead with little supervision as well as working closely with fellow team members in a small team
- Ability to work against tight deadlines with colleagues across the world
- MUST be ready to work during overlap hours with U.S. teams
