Roles and Responsibilities
The Sr Staff Data Scientist will be part of a cross-disciplinary engineering team on commercially-facing development projects, programs, and products. These typically involve large, complex data sets in the Additive domain. Such engineering teams typically include statisticians, computer scientists, software developers, mechanical and materials engineers, product managers, and end users working in concert with partners in GE business units. Potential application areas include in-situ monitoring & diagnostics, predictive health across the fleet of GE Additive’s machines & modalities.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in GE Additive business NPI and R&D programs to shape and identify Data Science opportunities to use data science to create customer value for the Additive business.
- Develop, deploy, and validate scalable analytics based solutions to address customer needs and opportunities.
- Demonstrate horizontal leadership and work across cross-functional teams to translate algorithms into commercially viable products and services with speed.
- Lead application of applied analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics for additive machine and process health monitoring.
- Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and AI methods.
- Work with data engineers on data quality assessment, data cleansing and data analytics
- Guide and mentor team to build state of the art additive analytics based products, responsible for project timely delivery and quality of product.
- Communicate methods, findings, and hypotheses with stakeholders.
- Lead and draft design practices and standards in analytics.
- Participate in design boards and related best-practice oriented process guidelines
Education Qualification
- Masterโs Degree in a โSTEMโ major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) plus 10 years analytics development for industrial applications in a commercial/industrial setting OR Ph.D. in a โSTEMโ major (Science, Technology, Engineering, 1athematics) plus 6 years analytics development for industrial applications in a commercial/industrial setting.
- Expert track record in one or more areas of Data Science & Analytics: Data Engineering (big and wide data), Statistical Methods, Machine learning and AI methods, Image Processing, MLOps/ XOps.
- Strong background in designing and developing physics based diagnostic and predictive analytic solutions for industrial applications
- High level of Expertise in coding (Python/R/C/C++) and familiarity with software development lifecycle.
- Experience in software development lifecycle with CICD, SCRUM/ Agile
- > 2 years of Experience in leading projects and working with cross-functional global teams
