Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
The GE Research Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) will prepare you for an exciting career in engineering research that will have real impact on GE’s businesses and customers around the world.
In the GE Research EEDP, you will:

Work on at least 3 research projects over 2-3 years in a variety of disciplines.

Grow your technical expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas.

Collaborate with diverse teams to develop innovative technologies for aviation, healthcare, power, and renewable energy.

Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class technologists and experienced technical managers.

Participate in leadership development training with GE program members from other businesses and locations

Share project progress internally and externally through presentations, written reports, and IP disclosures.
This role requires the candidate to gather intelligence, analyze the same, and provide insights & recommendations for technology development and commercialization strategies. The candidate will have to search and analyze technology, intellectual property (including patents), and business information in the domains of electrical technologies, controls, electrical machines, power electronics, robotics & digital technologies, as applied to applications like grid integration, aircraft electrical systems, power generation, plant controls, healthcare systems like MR / CT machines, etc. The candidate will work closely with technical project teams and business leaders, to understand technology / patent / competitive landscapes, recommend open spaces, analyze risk, and help GE build a robust intellectual property strategy. The candidate will also work closely with GE research technologists and licensing commercial leaders to analyze value propositions of GE technologies, evaluate market needs, identify potential targets and propose business & financial scenarios for commercialization of GE’s technology and/or Intellectual Property.
Qualifications/Requirements
We are looking for candidates with Masters degree in Electrical, Electronics, Controls, Power Electrical, Power Systems, Instrumentation or related disciplines, having an outstanding track record for independent applied research and demonstrated ability for analyzing technical problems and solutions. The candidate must be eager to work in a global team of experienced and dynamic researchers and commercial leaders, should have a strong passion for technology and a keen interest in developing business acumen. Candidate should be willing and able to learn and adapt to new technologies, have strong analytical skills and ability to provide a logical framework to support conclusions. Candidate should be a team player with good analytical and excellent communication skills and a passion for technology and commercialization of technology.

Candidates having prior experience in Intellectual property analytics, and/or commercializing technologies / intellectual property are desired. Also, having prior experience in technology/product benchmarking or industry analytics will be an added plus.

Having experience and knowledge in any or more of the following will be an added benefit for this position: Digital technologies, data analytics, AI/ML technologies, 5G / WiFi6 and other communication protocols.
