Working alongside our Senior Architects and Engineers, you will leverage your business and domain knowledge, outstanding communications skills, and natural ability to build relationships to lead collaboration efforts with fellow technology teams and business units. An outcome of these efforts will be to articulate the current state of their processes as well as creating a comprehensive future vision of GEICO’s end-to-end business processes. As a Technical Analyst you will be primarily responsible for analyzing the current state, documenting the current state in Business Process Model Notation (BPMN), and assisting in identifying opportunities to optimize or automate processes.


Position
Responsibilities

As a Technical Analyst, you will:

  • Analyze existing business processes for efficiency and effectiveness, establishing links between business strategies and improvement initiatives; make recommendations for business process enhancements

  • Evaluate and document existing business processes using interviews, workshops, document analysis, surveys, process storming, user scenarios, process maps, process mining, task and workflow analysis

  • Research industrywide best practices for implementing modern business processes in core business domains, and identify opportunities to enhance processes to align with best practices

  • Identify business process automation opportunities

  • Work with architecture and engineering teams to develop POCs (Proof of Concept) and prototypes based on an understanding of the customers business process needs

  • Develop engagement artifacts that are targeted to the audience perspective, providing accurate information in a professional and engaging manner

  • Engagement artifacts could include a strategy document, engagement summary, requirements, use cases, etc.)

  • Translate requirements into functional service designs and create service models along with supporting documentation (activity and sequence diagrams)

  • Identify opportunities to reuse enterprise technology services

  • Ensure recommended architectural designs and patterns are adhered to as part of delivery


Qualifications

  • Understanding of business process analysis, optimization, and automation techniques

  • Knowledge of Azure or other cloud computing platforms

  • Experience with low-code / no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform

  • An understanding of business process design best practices

  • Insurance industry domain knowledge

  • Strong verbal and presentation skills

  • Strong writing skills and thought leadership

  • Ability to create a set of requirements in partnership with business and engineering stakeholders and to ensure solutions map to the goals of the organization and customer needs

  • Strong problem-solving skills – ability to see past the immediate answer to the simple, elegant solution

  • Ability to see and implement patterns that enable solution simplification


Experience

  • Experience developing solutions in Microsoft Power Platform (Preferred)

  • 3+ years of business process analysis, business process management or business architecture experience

  • 2+ years of experience in the insurance or financial services industry

  • Experience with process modeling techniques in applications such as Visio

  • Process modeling techniques include BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation), UML (Unified Modeling Language), flowcharts etc.


Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
