This position will have responsibility to develop the US managed care strategy across government and private insurance markets for in-line and near-term pipeline assets.
This position can be also be a Director level for the right candidate based on qualifications and experience
This position sits in Foster City, CA.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Very strong working knowledge of Managed Markets (e.g. flow of product and dollars across the distribution chain, government pricing regulations, typical contracting terms, and approaches) as well as key healthcare related datasets (e.g. IQVIA, SHA, Model N, Rebate Claims)
- Able to influence senior management by distilling complex analytics and insights in an easily digestible presentation
- Ability to collaborate and influence key business partners including National Account Managers, Commercial/Government Contracting & Pricing, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Finance, and Legal
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and execute across multiple urgent deliverables
- Outstanding analytical skills including building complex excel models that integrate inputs from multiple data sources to enable robust scenario planning
- Intermediate level SQL / SAS and Tableau skills desired
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Develop models and analytics to support all phases of contracting, including proposal development, contract analytics / model building, approval, and performance-monitoring
- Partner with Marketing teams to ensure Managed Care strategy aligns with brand objectives
- Monitor competitive product landscape and trends related to payer reimbursement, and determine implications to Gilead’s product portfolio
- Work with Managed Markets leadership team to understand customer and industry trends, as they relate to contracted and potentially contracted customers
- Drive alignment across senior leadership at contracting steering committee meetings
- Conduct analytics to support distribution strategy and patient support program design
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and Ten Years’ Experience
OR
Masters’ Degree and Eight Years’ Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or other quantitative area plus 10+ years of related experience in the biotech or pharmaceuticals industry (12+ years of related experience for Director)
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or other quantitative area plus 8+ years of related experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry (10+ years of related experience for Director)
- Previous experience in Managed Markets preferred
- Previous experience in HCV, HIV, or Oncology therapeutic areas desired
