The Opportunity
- Our Clients Sustainability & Impact Department is responsible for managing and measuring the impact achieved by their investment activities, as well as examining ESG risks across our portfolio companies.
- With the impact investing industry growing rapidly, the ability to properly assess impact is critical for the long-term growth of the sector, and essential to an organization like Our Client’s, that is entirely dedicated to catalyzing development in emerging markets.
The team is looking to fill the following position: ESG and Impact Analyst
If you are a dedicated professional with a keen interest for ESG and Impact in emerging markets and would like to support Our Client’s unique business model, then you should read on.
Your Main Tasks
- Provide support to the Sustainability and Impact Department (SID) regarding the collection, management, and analysis of impact and ESG data from more than 300 investee companies.
- Carry out impact and/or ESG analysis of investee companies; monitor ESG performance of investee companies post-investment.
- Preparation of presentations for external investors, providing content and data for surveys, requests for proposals, investor due diligences etc.
- Providing content for impact blogs and other investor material as required.
- Analyzing industry trends for impact and ESG investing and prepare relevant data for presentation with relevant stakeholders.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a focus on impact, development, or sustainability
- Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in computer or data science or another highly quantitative field, combined with a demonstrable interest/experience in sustainable investments (or another higher education with comparable experience)
Your Experience
- At least 2 years’ work experience in a sustainability-oriented organization, e.g., inclusive finance organization, sustainability consultant, ESG service provider.
Skills
- Strong analytical skills, as well as full proficiency with Excel and Power BI, are essential.
- Good knowledge of Word and PowerPoint is desirable.
- Excellent spoken and written business English skills.
- High degree of initiative, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in multicultural settings with ease.
- Interest in and enthusiasm for development and impact investing, especially in the areas of climate finance, gender-lens investing and financial inclusion.
