Urgent hiring for Data Scientist role
Responsibilities
Problem solver: Using in-house and publicly available data, the candidate will work to develop new and improve existing algorithms to improve the accuracy of Pinnacle for different weather and geographical regions.
Efficiently clean, prune, fix, prepare, process and analyze network and field data.
Create and develop machine learning algorithms to help aid in positioning and calibration of devices and network.
Interpret data and guide company to maximal benefit.
Develop a strong domain expertise in atmospheric science and weather data products and apply it to improve Pinnacle products.
Desired Skills & Experience
Required:
Master’s with 2 years experience / PhD in engineering disciplines such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or sciences such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, or another closely related field, with research emphasis on data modeling and analysis.
Solid foundation in statistics, uncertainty quantification and data processing, including data reduction, regression, automation and visualization.
Demonstrated experience in rapid prototyping and an excellent data analyst of a variety of atmospheric, geospatial and time series data.
Strong scientific coding skills, including proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, R, MatLab, SQL, etc.
Familiarity with machine learning and deep learning frameworks applied to real world problems.
Market awareness of high quality open source data sets that can augment in house weather and geodata.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments, including hardware and software. Demonstrate initiative and be proactive.
Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across teams.
Preferred:
Experience in performing analysis of large data sets by exploiting parallel computing infrastructure.
1-2 years’ experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks, including scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, or PyTorch.
Expertise with object-oriented languages such as Java or C++ a bonus.
Experience in providing data support for internal and external client engagements for trials and demos.
Experience with driving projects across all stages, including ideation, testing, and marketing.
Familiarity with gridded (high resolution analysis/reanalysis data such as HRRR, ECMWF, CMC, JMA), satellite and RADAR data
Track record of significant publications in international journals and/or significant source code contribution to open source projects (e.g., github) or intellectual property.
Comfortable interfacing with the teams across India and USA.
Demonstrated record of delivered large data projects that had significant impacts on driving business.
Deep knowledge and experience with big data analysis and data processing tools/technologies that enables a smooth and efficient transition of engineering code into production environments
Experience with real-time streaming data processing will be considered a plus.
Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio of the company.
