Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 4 years of experience in application-level vulnerability testing and code-level security auditing
- Experience in programming with Python, C, C++, Java, or Go
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in vulnerability discovery and analysis, design auditing, and code-level security auditing
- Technical knowledge of security engineering, computer and network security, authentication and security protocols, and applied cryptography
- Familiarity with Android Internals
- Familiarity with Linux kernel
- Excellent self motivation and orientation toward results
- Outstanding communication skills

Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google’s users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
Our team works to understand and address the needs of the Indian market with its relative affordability of cellular data, regulatory space, digital payment standards, and preference for entertainment.
As an Information Security Engineer, you will help ensure that our software and services are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. You will analyze vulnerabilities reported to Android. You will perform security audits, vulnerability analysis, design reviews, and security code-reviews on Android. You will also work with software engineers to enhance our security posture.
You will be responsible for both security analysis (e.g., vulnerability analysis and design/implementation reviews) and security engineering. You will help define engineering scope, including development of vulnerability detection tools, manual audits of code and/or applications, development of internal tooling, or engineering work on platform security enhancements and mitigations

Responsibilities
- Analyze vulnerabilities reported to exist on the Android Platform.
- Perform security code analysis and design reviews.
- Develop technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.
- Advocate security and secure coding practices throughout Google and the Android ecosystem.
- Conduct research to identify attack vectors against Android and services for Android.
