The Global Analytics and Technology function at Greenlight Planet helps us build technology enabled solutions based on data driven insights. We have a team of data scientists, data engineers, analysts, technical architects, android developers, web designers, backend engineers, product managers and UI/UX developers working on developing cutting edge solutions for the underserved billions to solve our business problems (Example: last mile delivery, Credit underwriting, credit risk management, Distribution channel digitization, churn management etc.)
Our team is spread across 3 continents, the right candidate will be excited to be part of a team with very diverse backgrounds and look forward to continuously learn over years to come as we imagine new ways to provide quality and affordable products to those not reached by traditional companies.
About the role:
The Data team is looking for a skilled Machine Learning Engineer to help use state-of-the-art algorithms to analyze our data and uncover patterns otherwise undiscoverable. These will include but are not limited to using unsupervised learning techniques to uncover underlying patterns in customer repayments behavior, building classification models to define intervention strategies building recommender systems to optimize ROI of interventions. This is a unique opportunity to get access to a large mane of data and build tools that will have a direct impact on people lives.
What you would be expected to do:
> Build production level machine learning models using the latest open-source technologies
> Develop scalable tools and services for handling machine learning workflows
> Research and design appropriate machine learning and deep learning algorithms and tools
> Identify opportunities to use available sources of data to solve business problems
> Gain in-depth knowledge about our data to find the most relevant input for new models
> As the team grows, you may be considered to manage one or more junior computer scientists
You might be a strong candidate if you:
> Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a similar quantitative field. Master’s degree or PhD preferred
> 4 years of relevant professional experience with at least two years hands-on experience building machine learning models. Experience building financial models preferred
> Ability to independently transform a business problem statements into a machine learning problem and solve them with most relevant machine learning techniques
> Ability to write high quality code optimized to process and transform huge volume of data
> Intermediate level of proficiency in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc. (AWS preferred)
> Proficiency in Python, SQL, and in machine learning frameworks and libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch…). Other coding languages (Scala, etc.) will be considered
> Good understanding of statistics preferred: you have a good knowledge of machine learning and deep learning algorithms, and you know how and why they work
> Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
> Ability to learn quickly, initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
> Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
> Some experience managing projects and/or a team preferred, and eager to guide others
