Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Data Scientists working on various projects/initiatives.
- Manage self as well as team tasks and deliveries.
- Technical as well as people leadership.
- Enable deliveries through processes and cross functional communication. Lead from front inspire and motivate team.
- Interact with relevant teams to identify business challenges where data science can help.
- Interact with Architects, Business Analysts (onsite and offshore) and program and delivery leads
- understand requirements, translating customer needs for development teams
- gather or analyse data in structured or unstructured format
- produce models and analysis that meet the requirements and
- create estimates and translate the design in tasks for team members.
- Solve business problems through data science techniques and statistical modelling where simple analysis may not be sufficient.
- Architect solutions to fulfil business needs.
- Ability to work under tight timelines for multiple project deliveries.
- Ability and effectiveness working in a significant technical problem domain, in the term of plan, design, execution, continuous release and service operation.
- Ability to formulate multiple sophisticated business problems into hypotheses and proof of concepts for testing.
- Perform reviews. Inculcate best practices and design thinking. Adhere to standards.
- Verification and validation of assumptions, models, and ensure requirements are met.
- Work on continuously updating data science strategy, including evaluating emerging/cutting edge, open-source, data science/machine learning libraries/big data platforms.
- Formulate strategies for incorporating new, latest, and cutting-edge techniques and tools.
- Internal and External communication as required.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Proficient in Statistical & Analytical Modelling
- Machine Learning (Classification, Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Timeseries and Clustering)
- Deep Learning (RNN, LSTM, Encoder-Decoder, Transformers, BERT)
- Natural Language Processing
- Visualization techniques and tools
- Expertise in Python with 4+ year hands on
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Tech savvy and keen to work on technical challenges.
- Experience with prototype or software development is a plus
- Lead a team of up to 5-6 data scientists / interns providing career mentorship and line management
- Help groom and coach team members and enhance teams analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of Scrum and Agile processes and tools such as Jira, Microsoft Planner etc.
- Intermediate to Expert Level understanding of Database technologies (SQL, MySQL), MS Excel.
- Understanding of Forecasting, Supply Chain Domain will be an added advantage.
