Associate Director of Analytics
Are you looking for a role that allows you to leverage analytics skills to make a difference in the execution of the biopharma projects pipeline? If so, this Associate Director of Analytics role could be an ideal opportunity to explore.
As Associate Director of Analytics, you will be responsible for partnering with the R&D business, process experts, and the tech team to develop and deliver robust, scalable, and sustainable analytics with optimal design and governance process.
We’re combining the power of genetic and genomic insights into what causes disease, with the speed and scale of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) to make better predictions about who a treatment might work for, and why. We believe this powerful combination of data and technology holds the key to fundamentally transforming medical discovery for the better, improving R&D success rates and shaping how even the most challenging diseases, like neurological conditions and cancer, can be both prevented and treated.
Recently we have delivered four major product approvals: Cabenuva for HIV, Jemperli for endometrial cancer, Xevudy for COVID-19 and Apretude, our new long-acting medicine for HIV prevention. In this role you will:

Demonstrate and hone your leadership and stakeholder management capabilities in a multi-cultural and pluri-disciplinary matrix team, as you will take the accountability to bring to fruition advanced analytical reporting’s for the Project management community, but also various governing & decisional bodies of GSK R&D.

Act as analytics advisory to senior leaders and key stakeholders on how data and analytics play a critical role in business management and optimisation

Partner with R&D process experts and tech team to analyse and design end-to-end analytics solutions

Promote the use of high-quality data and metrics to support a culture of fact-based decision-making in GSK by building capabilities and provide guidance and training to the community in visualisation and analytics tool usage.

Apply analytics and business acumen to diagnose planning and resource issues, and data issues, and generate insights and recommendations to demonstrably influence business decisions and outcomes.

Identify through analytics the development projects with maximum impact across the R&D organisation portfolio.

Serve as a member of the Master Data Strategy and Analytics team, participating in strategy development, and providing guidance around tactical decisions.

Actively monitor the latest BI technologies and solutions to leverage the adequate modern data visualisation and analytics technologies to create dynamic business dashboards to effectively communicate and bring key insights to life for customers. Be aware that currently, the team is shifting from a SPOTFIRE to the full Microsoft Azure stack and PowerBi reporting technology.

Contribute to a group of up to 10 experts. According to his/her knowledge/experience, this role may encompass advisory, guidance and coaching of other professionals to ensure their development.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

BS or MS in computer science/ information system / math / science / physics or related fields along with work experience in a related field
-
Over five years of experience in data preparation, data gateway, and data warehousing projects
-
Over five years of experience working with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack having Power BI, Power Query, MDX, PowerBI, DAX, and SQL SSAS/SSRS/SSIS.
-
Intermediate level of python & Databricks experience
-
Demonstrate your ability to quickly shape data into reporting and analytics solutions
-
Have knowledge of database fundamentals such as multidimensional database design, relational database design, and more
-
Adequate expertise and experience in delivering solutions to production via Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
-
Over three years of experience in communication of technical concepts to senior managers/stakeholders who have no understanding of data science as a discipline; helping them to articulate their needs in a way that ‘speaks to the questions’ they are trying to answer.

Excellent communication (written/oral) in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
-
Experience and knowledge in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (build, test, and validate predictive models).

Experience/training in the Design, develop and implement analytical solutions using a variety of commercial and open-source tools (common tools include Python, R, TensorFlow).

Experience/training in Report Design (Designer)
-
Deep experience of Extraction, Transformation and Load processes in a big data environment (hive, Impala, SQL).

Excellent verbal communication skills.
